hi there i know it's been ages since u posted the dmcl miniseries but i think it's perfection. i don't know which panel is my favourite. dimitri turning around and breaking his cup? edelgard's expression outside the lovey dovey hand touching scene they have going on? (that's a top contender) the panel where el abandons dimitri? the solidarity handshake? the ! when dimitri recalls sylvain's words of wisdom? *would you like to wield my lance?* this is amazing. i cannot stop thinking about it. tyvm

Originally, it was supposed to be only 4 pages, posted in 4 parts, so it would have ended when Claude and Dimitri ended up at the same table. But then I thought… what if… what if Edelgard and Hilda tried to help them and worsened the disaster… Thus, Edelgard and Hilda interacting inspired me to draw 11 pages 😂 Sylvain is a bonus to spice things up even more lmao

Not much about it but:

Personally i looove flame-water breather Iruka because thats what his elements are in naruto. But Oli reminded me that “his name literally means ‘THE SEA’” so Iruka ended up being a water breather in my head

Zero thought about Kakashi’s breathing technique… Maybe, thunder?

Iruka’s nichirin turns red, and its guard design is like this. Also it got cord that he tied to its guard when he’s not using it. Like that one from Blade of the Stranger. The scabbard got dragon design on it. Like Kyoujurou’s it has wave on the blade. All in all a beautiful one

Kakashi’s nichirin on the other hand.. turns grey and very slick, like it was designed not to be flashy but deadly and faster to use. Also its lighter than Iruka’s. Every part of it is black except for the ‘same’. Its guard design is the Hatake symbol.

Both Kakashi’s and Iruka’s nichirin is old, passed down from their family

I imagined Iruka’s role like Tanjirou’s.. He takes care of Naruto since he’s a demon and he loves that kid like a family

hello pls talk to me more about mizuki creeping on iruka because 10000/10 my jam

haha well even if this arc was filler, the dynamics between mizuki and iruka seemed reconcilable to canon imo.

even with the whole “everyone who has the will of fire is family” sentiment, iruka seems still pretty alone even into his adulthood. nearly all of his interactions with his peers in the series are surface-level. if mizuki was iruka’s best friend since childhood, and mizuki was emotionally abusive all that time, it follows in my mind that mizuki would perpetuate iruka’s general isolation so that iruka would come only to him for comfort.

whether their friendship remained platonic or not, there are a lot of emotions tangled up in that toxic mess. (i mean, compared to fiancée tsubaki, mizuki seemed to have much more emotional investment in iruka — what happened there, pray tell? did mizuki string iruka along on the side? did tsubaki know? did she turn a blind eye because angry mizuki is scary? so many questions and possible answers)

in any case, mizuki’s creeping on iruka just to mess with his head seems like it would fall well within the realm of expected behavior from him.

one i remember is passing food from chopsticks to chopsticks. u do that for the bones of the dead, not living food. similarly, that’s also why u dont stick chopsticks upright in ur rice - they look like joss sticks. must set them down across the bowl instead. i suspect that’s why ur mum got all !!!
