I've been scrolling your blog for over an hour thinking you did a photorealistic drawing of Dean at some point but I can't find it? Did I just imagine it? Or did something happen to it? It was just like a profile view? I think?

Hm, I don’t know. I don’t really have the skill level to do photorealistic art. What factors go into pricing your tiaras and flower crowns?

For flower crowns, it’s the cost of materials, and cost for my time to create them. You can use an hourly wage calculator to estimate how much to charge for an item based on how much time you put into it, but I still lowball it because of how competitive things are right now. :<

For tiaras, some are from taobao and marked up a lil to cover the exorbitant cost of doing a huge shipment but generally is still more affordable than buying the same tiara individually yourself. Think like a group order!The light up tiaras, on the other hand, I purchase up front as well as the LED units, and hand wire them myself, so pricing is a combination of the two.Hope this helped. :)

Steven Universe is often "off model" a lot because there isn't a set model for any of the characters. They give the characters loose guidelines so that the different storyboard artists have a little more freedom. It's a stylistic choice for the show.

This post says it best but to summarize it simply, the extent characters are off model is, in my opinion, sloppy. While slight style variation can be cool, its jarring when you have episodes that look really appealingly and consistent, and then the very following episode is wonky and tbh ugly. This isn’t a matter of “early vs later art” either:

And when its within an episode? I find that inexcusable haha

I’m a big fan of pushed “off model” expressions, but as an artist and animation major there are times when the faces and style are unforgivably bad, man

Not that i have beef with people who like this or dont mind it, but for me personally its become distracting, and frustrating with how some character designs are portrayed when i know they can be presented better
