The night was cool – a nice change for the typical humid summer nights – and Chris had only just decided to go out for a short walk. He figured he could also pick up some drinks from the nearby liquor store (only if it wasn’t closed, as it was already around midnight). He grabbed his jacket, made sure he had some money and his keys, and left his apartment.

The streets were quiet, the traffic lights softly illuminating the sidewalks as they changed colors – green, yellow, red. Chris hummed quietly to himself, watching the occasional car drive by. It almost took him by surprise when he saw a female walking by herself, her head hanging low. She looked… cold. He crossed the street and approached the female, trying his best not to startle her.

“Hey,” he said in a soft voice. “You alright? I haven’t seen you around here before… are you looking for something?” It wasn’t until she looked up that he recognized the female from his frequent adventures to the flower shop she worked at. “Oh shit, Rin! What’re you doing out here? Shouldn’t you be… i’unno… asleep?”
