Mysterious project Rione, who according to Soundcloud hails from both Seattle and Los Angeles, dropped this ravishing tune into my inbox, leaving me ever curious to learn more about the indie outfit. Channels seamlessly combines downtempo electronica with R&B tinged electro pop. It’s almost like a mixture of Tycho, Brandyn Burnette, and Morgxn. Rione tags the song as “post sad boy”. Indeed, it’s a rather aching joint, and the sort of forward thinking, freshly minted electronica and pop that some have taken to labeling as “post-EDM” these days.
