If I read the flow chart correctly I don't think any amount of calculated for maximum coolness parkouring would have gotten Markus on the jumpscare boat without this ultimate sacrifice, but it doesn't make me any less torn up about it.

"I want to burn this thing", Paddy says as he shrugs off his jacket. He holds it out in front of himself, just looking at it. His face is blank.
"Come on now, it's a good jacket!", Christoph says, "And superstitions aren't real.".
"Superstitions aren't...? Of course they are freaking real, Christoph!", Paddy huffs in exasperation.
"It's just a jacket...", Christoph tries again.
"I'm gonna show you just a jacket!", Paddy shouts, throwing it across the room.
Christoph looks at him in disbelief before he walks across the room. As he bends down to pick it up there's another shout interrupting him "Leave it!". Paddy steps up to him. They stand there in silence for a few seconds, just looking at the offending clothing item.
Slowly, Paddy turns his head towards Christoph and says in calm anger: "This jacket, it's bad luck, it cannot stay. It has to be destroyed and I am going to do this with or without you. I'd much rather do it with you by my side though. First, we're gonna take this outside. Far off. We're gonna tie it to my car, drag it around, no mercy. It's burgundy color will be but an idea of the past. Then, we're gonna take a knife to it. Clean cuts along the seams and make it real slow. Rip it to shreds after. There's going to be nothing recognizable about it anymore. It'll have to be burned. No evidence. And into the ground it goes."
Christoph looks at Paddy in disbelief but Paddy only looks at the jacket. Disgust is written all over his face. After a few more agonizingly quiet moments Paddy spits on it, turns around and leaves. This jacket is not gonna be bad luck anymore.
