Jacob Goffard art dump #3 (cause I miss the melodrama)
Before I get into the info art dump, these are all just ideas for a family AU as I like exploring toxic family dynamics, and what better to do so than with one of the most dysfunctional families ever?? But yeah, these are more ideas than anything, just needed to get the art out there lol.

Regardless of who the father is, (it's Derek unless specified otherwise), Dawn will get extremely territorial towards Jacob once they give birth to him (they'll go back to normal once he's able to eat solid foods as animal instincts has a play on Dawn's psyche. They get diagnosed with "postpartum psychosis" though.)

Dawn would only want to keep Jacob as a means of protection. Derek of course is against having a baby but reluctantly lets Dawn keep the baby as Jacob would be a dog beastkin. (Basically, he could get away with treating him more as a dog than a son. Plus it's more "badass" than a normal baby as puppies mature faster.)
Derek would still provide the basics but wouldn't hesitate to send the baby elsewhere if he deems dawn too unfit to raise a kid for the both of them. His main criteria is for Dawn to not raise him to be as soft and weak minded as they are.
Derek isn't completely heartless, he does have a soft spot for puppy Jacob as he's able to roughhouse with him early on. He's basically emotional support dog #2, but a Goffard! He would raise Jacob more as his "best friend", making him partake in all the things he enjoys.
Due to him being half of Dawn, Derek ends up obsessing over Jacob's achievements and personality as he wants him to be as cruel and aggressive as he is, much to everyone's detriment.
He likes to lean on the fact that Jacob is a hunting dog, so he encourages his killer instincts by hunting animals (or humans if Jacob ends up adopting Derek's personality into adulthood).
(Also ignore bunny Chole shhh, that's another AU that I won't get into for now.)
Matt, on the other hand, is also just as obsessed with Jacob as well, as he's convinced that's his son. He tends to drive that point home, constantly comparing himself to Jacob (when Derek is away) and cornering Dawn to get them to choose him over Derek.
When Jacob grows older, he starts to resent everyone in that household: Derek for being a sadistic asshole towards everyone, Matt for constantly emotionally manipulating and degrading Dawn, and Dawn for "letting everyone step all over them".
Despite that, he tends to get aggressive towards Matt when he catches him cornering his mother as Dawn raised him to believe women are supposed to be protected by men from other men. (Dawn is masc non-binary but after birth, they raised Jacob into viewing them as a woman so that one day, he can protect them from Derek or Matt.)
Matt sometimes guilts Dawn with how Derek is raising or punishing Jacob, saying they're a negligent parent for letting Jacob get hurt. Dawn, on the other hand, will disregard what Matt has to say since Dawn was bought from an auction and he doesn't allow Dawn to leave the mansion. In their eyes, Matt is just as bad as Derek (which he is.)

Sorry if the lore is confusing, I like having multiple approaches as to what Dawn does and how it can impact the family dynamic, so for now, their actions are vague. But what is definite for every Jacob AU is that Dawn raises Jacob with a traditional idealistic culture of masculinity, which can be found in those old school Mexican films lol.
