Opinions on what Pretty simple did with Mia Loukas’s character?

While some people think Mia’s backstory with Spring Fields is a little rushed, I kind of think it’s well executed, especially with the foreshadowing of her death and all. One thing’s for certain though;

Mia deserved better than Brock Perry.

Maybe he really did love Mia, but he prioritized his own selfish desires for their relationship. Her father probably disapproved of her relationship with him because he suspected something was not right with him, and rightfully so. Then when Mia’s father died, he insensitively suggested to make their relationship public instead of being there with his grieving girlfriend who clearly loved her father.

Mia was right to break up with him that time, but it accidentally caused her her life, and possibly the player’s life if Mia didn’t borrow their car that time. Brock’s motive was also quite selfish, killing off his girlfriend’s colleague just so she could stay with him. Mia had aspirations and dreams outside of their relationship, maybe she didn’t even prioritize romance as of the moment. Brock says he loves Mia, but if he truly loved her he wouldn’t do any of this.

On another note, To Kingdom Come is just such an interesting case with loads of what ifs. What if the player was the one who got killed? What if Brock never accepted Ad Astra’s offer to plant the bomb? If the player was the one to die, how would Pretty Simple pull it off? If the player was the one who died, will the GPD still be able to stop Ad Astra? What if someone else was in that car? It’s just the little things that could’ve made a big impact on the case.

That makes me think, what if Criminal Case was like a visual novel where you get to choose your own choices? xD If Criminal Case was like that, I’d probably choose not to let Mia borrow the car just to save her because poor Mia.
