If the made-for-television movie Selena (dir. Gregory Nava, 1997) starring Jennifer Lopez is on, I'm watching it. I think I've seen it four or five times. I was not/am not a fan of Selena (though clearly she was a big talent); I am neutral on Jennifer Lopez (also a big talent); I am decidedly not a fan of Tejano music (definitely in the category of "they didn't make it for me"). But for some reason, that film is really compelling even though it's a TV movie and it shows. TV movies are not really movies, as we all know. And I'm kind of a movie snob, so none of this makes sense in any way, shape, or form.
