(Season 1 Episode 15b Rip-Penn) I don't what's funnier: The fact that the professor has this many changes of clothes for when he turns, or the fact that Penn doesn't even stop to change. He just keeps walking as he changes!! 😂👻
WATCH PENN ZERO: SEASON 2! Tomorrow July 10 though July 28 (on Disney XD)
Hey guys, like I promised I’m gonna start posting storyboards from Penn Zero: Part-Time Hero Season 1 (and eventually, later on - Season 2)
Heiko Drengenberg worked on Season 1 - and he storyboarded one of my favorite episodes - “Rip-Penn”. Heiko’s boards are amazing- so expressive and loose - yet they are also very precise - the acting and action and animation is clear.
This episode was directed amazingly by Tom De-Rosier, who also did some of the other storyboards. As Supervising Director, I gave many verbal notes throughout the process - and worked with Tom and our editor Jhoanne Reyes to hone the episode and make it as funny and clear and exciting as I could - sometimes giving my own thumbnail sketch notes on small yellow post-its (I find it easier to stay analog for quick notes)...
The Verbal notes typed below are mine - these are shipped with the detailed animatic, and shipping artwork, including special poses and all designs, Black and White and color. Sometimes there are typos. The vendor studio - in this case, Mercury Filmworks -- is great at interpreting the storyboards and special poses - and the notes worked well for them. They also added their own ideas to the animation.
This episode (with all the crazy transformations) also was shipped with many special poses by Matt Williames, as well as some animation reference, I believe.
25-Day Penn Zero Season 2 Challenge day 6- Old dimension you wished had come back in season 2
The Gothic mystery world from "Rip- Penn" OR the old English world from "Number One, Number Two". I just loved those episodes and wanted to see more out of those worlds!!
Form vs Form: Part IV (Larry Edition)
Cowboy Bandit Larry (Dinosaur Cowboy World)🤠
Treasurer Larry (Temple World)🧻
Dark Overlord Larry (Demon World)😈
London Citizen Larry (Gothic Mystery World)🎩
Last Zap Larry
I have too many pics from this episode alone... there's just so many damn funny expressions in each frame, I'm left dying of laughter!
I think the muddled version of Rip-Penn would be pretty interesting (unless muddled Rippen is just too chill for the transformation to even happen, but he can probably get angry; I believe in him).
Ohhhh ho ho, believe me, Muddled!Rippen is never too chill, especially before Penn, Boone, and Sashi came along. He mellowed out quite a bit, but I'm pretty sure when we reach "Rip-Penn," Rippen will be a lot more inclined to get angry (due to Penn and probably Boone. Those two are really testing his patience)
But yeah, I'm super excited and super indecisive about what I want to do with that episode. But for the time being, Penn is the monster, and Rippen is Dr. Barzelby and I'm taking Monster Penn's shenanigans to the streets of London! Let him cause some chaos!
