In tribute to the great muse, Mary Oliver Time To Let It Go: Poetry by Mary Oliver http://bit.ly/2HlwbZB
The most regretful people on earth are those who felt the call to creative work, who felt their own power restive and uprising, and gave it neither power, nor time.
Mary Oliver
Thank you, Mary Oliver for leaving us with so many words to lead us into places unnameable and cast vision for how we are to love the world more deeply. #RIPMaryOliver #LoveTheWorld — The witchery of living is my whole conversation with you, my darlings. All I can tell you is what I know. Look, and look again. This world is not just a little thrill for the eyes. It’s more than bones. It’s more than the delicate wrist with his personal pulse. It’s more than the beating of the single heart. It’s praising. It’s giving until the giving feels like receiving. You have a life – just imagine that! You have this day, and maybe another, and maybe still another. — We do one thing or another; we stay the same, or we change. Congratulations, if you have changed. Let me ask you this. Do you also think the beauty exists for some fabulous reason? And, if you have not been enchanted by this adventure - your life - what would do for you? What I loved in the beginning, I think, was mostly myself. Never mind that I had to, since somebody had to. That was many years ago. Since then I have gone out for my confinements, though with difficulty. I mean the ones that thought to rule my heart. I cast them out, I put them on the mush pile. They will be my nourishment somehow (everything is nourishment somehow or another). And I have become the child of the clouds, and of hope. I’ve become the friend of the enemy, whoever that is. I have become older and, cherishing what I’ve learned, I have become younger. And what do I risk to tell you this, which is all I know? Love yourself. Then forget it. Then, love the world. -Mary Oliver, “To Begin With, the Sweet Grass” (excerpts) (at Arcadia, California) https://www.instagram.com/p/BsyZLZ_DCTU/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=nx1yykove63t
You were the first poet to make me cry. Your words and grace will be missed. #ripmaryoliver https://www.instagram.com/p/BsyKTrtl4Nx/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=jc641man8udn
Rest in Peace, Mary Oliver
The Uses of Sorrow by Mary Oliver
“There are moments that cry out to be fulfilled. Like, telling someone you love them. Or giving your money away, all of it. . Your heart is beating, isn’t it? You are not in chains, are you? . There is nothing more pathetic than caution when headlong might save life, even, possibly, your own.” ~ Mary Oliver . I don’t normally use quotes, but #ripmaryoliver ❤️🙏🏽 . #poetry #fold #blackandwhite #yoginisofinstagram #healthyliving #fulfilled #yogastudent https://www.instagram.com/p/BswxPkVAbUX/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=1m84bj7vgj0pt
Wild Geese, by Mary Oliver __ You do not have to be good. You do not have to walk on your knees For a hundred miles through the desert, repenting. You only have to let the soft animal of your body love what it loves. Tell me about your despair, yours, and I will tell you mine. Meanwhile the world goes on. Meanwhile the sun and the clear pebbles of the rain are moving across the landscapes, over the prairies and the deep trees, the mountains and the rivers. Meanwhile the wild geese, high in the clean blue air, are heading home again. Whoever you are, no matter how lonely, the world offers itself to your imagination, calls to you like the wild geese, harsh and exciting— over and over announcing your place in the family of things. __ Mary Oliver, a woman I consider one of the greatest poets and minds of all time, died today. In her honor, here is my small tribute, a piece of one of her poems turned into physiopoetry. I don’t usually feel too big of an impact when someone famous, someone I’ve never met, dies, but I feel a deep sadness today. Her wisdom has made sense of life so much more, for me, and for many. Her ability to articulate life, emotions, and experiences has helped me make sense of everything. The world lost an amazing woman today. Her legacy will live on though her poetry and the spirit it exudes. Rest in peace, Mary Oliver. I hope this poem enlightens and delights you the way it has for me 🖤 __ #skinonsundays #physiopoetry #maryoliver #poetryisnotdead #ripmaryoliver #asadday #wildgeese #poemoftheday #poetryismotion #livelifetothefullest #wisdom #wisewords #spilledink #poetry_addicts #favoritepoet #wordart #visualpoetry #tribute #allthefeels (at Mexico City, Mexico) https://www.instagram.com/p/BswmwxxHQBr/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=ky8nfwb9mhh7
