Are Sergio Leone's English-language Westerns an exception to the dubbing issue since the originals are already dubbed over, or does that make it harder to enjoy them?
leone doesn’t count for various reasons specifically a) the original dialogue was conceived in italian and the english version really lacks in comparison b) they were shot in a way for which they would need to be re-dubbed anyway and the english versions are... lackluster c) the first time I’ve seen them I was like eleven and living in a country where everything was dubbed I still hadn’t had the original language experience bc dvds weren’t a thing yet so like... I loved them back then and now they registered as italian stuff regardless and if I hear the english dialogue it doesn’t match, d) most of the actors were italian anyway and re-dubbed themselves so basically it’s just the mains it’s not as bad as idk japanese movie with japanes actors dubbed in italian XD ;)
