yay my first ask! here's a little (gif)t for you

again, a disclaimer that this is NOT a shippy post.

oh i have so many thoughts. going along with the assumption that they too, meet first on the linked ad shoot-

jemi's excited about signing up for the ad collab with rishabh first. and then nervous. she immediately spams smriti while freaking out about it.

smriti replies with 'i asked abhi and he says rishabh is chill. it will be fine 👍!' she has to reread it because when did they become best friends?

she's a little relieved because smriti trusts abhi's opinion and she trusts smriti, but she still runs plenty of what if scenarios in her head about the ad shoot being a disaster

rishabh doesn't think too much about it. he's already impressed with her knock against aus in the wc. he watches a few clips of jemi's interviews, decides that he likes the vibes, and goes to sleep.

they have the opposite problem that smriti and abhishek had; instead of awkward silences, they somehow end up trying to start the conversation at the same time. it's a flurry of 'no you first' until rishabh says 'okay we are going to play rock paper scissors and whoever wins talks first.'

rishabh's easy-going vibe eases her nerves.

jemi has already by-hearted the dialogues before reaching the set. rishabh meanwhile, sees the script only once he's there. however, jemi's a good practice buddy and she has the funniest tips to help him remember the next line.

(watch the video linked in the ask to picture this more clearly) they have assembled a random group of people to play cricket for the ad. the director is a perfectionist and the poor guy has bowled three overs before he's happy with it. rishabh and jemi are already munching through the pack they are given and whispering about feeling sorry for the players.

the director keeps making points about jemi's tone and posture and her anxiety starts kicking in. rishabh steps in with light hearted jokes and steers the conversation away from her to give her a second to breathe. jemi notices, and this is when she starts considering him a friend.

both of them actively reply to each other's stories on instagram. they eventually add each other to their private accounts too.

of course, they too bond over talking about each other's pet dogs. jemi cant stop pulling his leg at this video

over time, they end up in a small friend group with smriti and abhishek. they visit one of the four's houses when they have time, and of course everyone's attention is directed towards that person's pet dog. it soon turns into a competition to see who the dog likes best.

so. much. tea. they have to make a pact that whatever's said in the house, remains in the house.

rishabh loves pulling her leg. he sometimes purposely ragebaits her to see her get worked up. but of course he ends up laughing and jemi hits him playfully with whatever object is near them.

jemi calls up rishabh sometimes when she's getting a little too lost in her head. he's a surprisingly good listener, and his replies are actually thoughtful and considerate.

rishabh sometimes needs a distraction from his thoughts too, though he's pretty good at not showing it. he finds comfort in listening to jemi yap about her new interests or anything really, and jemi knows this. she talks until rishabh's laughing.

they often make fun of problems couples face and talk about how much freeing it is to be just single.
