Penny wasn't one to arrive home late but today was one of the very few exceptions. She was at her friend's place when she suddenly realized she should've been home already. Her friends managed to convince her that she should stay, seeing as she was going to be in trouble anyway. Unfortunately for her, that was very much true. With how strict her curfew was it didn't matter if she was five minutes late or a couple of hours, her father was going to get mad at her anyway. And since it was friday she decided to stay as long as everybody else. It felt nice being able to do so, her curfew always forced her to go home first but now she could spend the rest of the night with her friends like a normal teenager.
However, when she arrived home the feeling of dread finally kicked in. She sneaked in as quietly as she could. A breath of relief when all the lights were off. It was a stay of execution and she knew it but it was better than the alternative. She tiptoed her way to the kitchen. Figuring she could get a drink before she would go to bed. So she certainly didn't expect to see her father sitting there when she turned on the light. "Daddy!" she gasped, surprise obvious on her face as she tried to think of a good excuse. But for now, she kept quiet as she knew he would twist anything she said to make her feel even worse than she already did.
