Let's hear some meta about Achilles & Atalanta's friendship.
META TIME WITH CHAVI || ALWAYS ACCEPTING
OK, HERE’S THE THING ABOUT THESE TWO. While I like how their relationship was done in the anime and the light novel/manga, I can’t ship them in a romantic sense, for one reason... Achilles sees Atalanta as family. Atalanta knew Achilles’ father, King Peleus, they met on two occasions. One was during the Calydonian Boar hunt where Atalanta absolutely beat the shit out of Peleus on a wrestling match (and keep in mind that Peleus was trained by Chiron in Pankration) and the second time was when they sailed on the quest for the Golden Fleece as part of the Argonauts. Peleus obviously knew Atalanta so once he and Thetis married and had Achilles, Peleus told his son EVERYTHING about the fleet-footed huntress that kicked his ass and who was such a good shot that even the Gods would be impressed.
So, Achilles already admired her, looked up to her and even had a childhood crush on her (as all kids do) so when he got the chance to meet her in the Great Holy Grail War, he was stoked! He finally met one of the heroes his father had told him about! And sure, he was forceful in calling her Ane-san (or sister) but it’s because, to him, she was already family. And he cared for her so much that it had to be him the one who fought and stopped her when she used the Boar Pelt. No one else could’ve done it, he saw it as HIS duty to save her from what she became because he’d seen that kind of rage before... In him when he lost Patroclus during the last year of the Trojan War. He couldn’t save Patroclus so he was going to make damn sure he could, at least, save her and give her a peaceful death. He was so regretful about it though, he didn’t want to fight his friend and the person he’d heard of so much when he was a child. But he had to. If not for his father, for her, because he knew she wasn’t like that and he wanted to prevent her legend from being tarnished by that rage.
And, well, he’s always been the open sort when it comes to his emotions and I hate that the anime changed it? But he cried, he unashamedly cried when he and Atalanta had that final talk. He was sad, he was so sad that he had to kill her that he broke down in tears. And Atalanta saw it in a positive light, she at least had him in her corner, supporting her dream and hearing Achilles say “Even then... I was willing to risk my life to stop you from fully descending into madness.” and “Both you and your dream were truly beautiful. However, you knew more than anyone that your dream would never come to fruition but you continued to chase it. That’s why you...” Achilles had her back all the way, he supported her even while they were both dying. And that? That’s beautiful. His admiration for her started with Peleus but Achilles went above and beyond for her.
“ I am surprised—I didn’t anticipate on having you as my audience this evening. Are you lost? ”

( rie gets a matching pair of shorts that say 'god won't let me die' and they wear them to watch movies and do face masks and manicures— )
[OZY LIKES THIS IDEA. He fully supports her incredible shorts and equally great manicures. He wants her to do that neat nail art on his nails again because how fascinating! People in this era sure are creative! He hopes the movie they watch is a horror one so he can complain at the screen about why people make ridiculous choices like hiding under a bed when they always die when they go under the bed.]

Rie settles against his shoulder, eyes closed and shoulders slumped. She's tired, and everything just keeps piling on- she just wants a moment away from everything, and she knows no one would dare disturb Ozymandias.
RIE HAD PICKED THE perfect place to rest. None in their right mind would dare disturb him without good reason, and so she could close her eyes and merely exist without any barging in and ruining what peace she had. ❝A hard day, hm?❞ he asked, turning his head a little to look down upon the exhausted Master. ❝It is good that you at least have decided to take it easy. Sometimes you have a tendency to push more and more without thinking about your own well-being.❞ Something that had concerned him considerably. Thankfully, she seemed to take the worries of others into account. Chuckling, he looked away and said nothing more. Rie could stay here for as long as she wished. Ozymandias wouldn't be going anywhere anytime soon.

Ridiculous Rie thought #735, as she's sunbathing in his 'room':
"Hey, 'niisama... if you're the embodiment of the sun, does that mean you never needed like... sunscreen?"
❝...❞ What. ❝Well, normally I had someone hold something over me to shade me from the sun, though there were times that I did have to stand within its full might.❞ A pause. Actually, why was Rie interested in this really bizarre question? There were many who would have wanted to write down every single thing that Ozymandias told him as if he were spewing gold right out of mouth rather than mere words, yet here she was, asking him about...sunscreen. Honestly, that fact alone made him laugh, and laugh he did. ❝Ahahahaha! You never cease to entertain me, My Dear Little Sister! As one who is the sun incarnate, what do you think the answer might be?❞
