The fact that Ult is Kalosian and a Lumiose native means he's basically at least honorarily French. No seriously. He's French.

Though I admit, the dichotomy of Kalosians being either tall af, with Alain and Sycamore (and Lysandre) being giant towers and Serena already being taller than most of her friends (including Ash), or being short af gremlins like Trevor and now Ult, is amusing, with in-between cases being rare.

You know what would be really funny and ironic to me? If Uruto/Ult’s Sableye were to end up being female. Like, we know the kid has no cool around girls and can barely talk to them, so I can just imagine how he would take to finding out that his starter and the Pokémon he is closest to no less is a girl. Then again, I can also see how this could be played dramatically and/or serve to help him get over his awkwardness, so there is that too.

Discussion, theories and my general thoughts on Ult

As of episode 102 I'm enjoying Ult as a character and I think he has a lot of room for development and is just interesting as he is right now, and I wanted to share some of my thoughts about him

So far there is surprisingly a lot about this guy. He couldn't be far from a generic and flat character that I initially thought he would be.

I think his best character quality is showcased in episode 95.

At this point in story Ult wasn't a part of Rising Volt Tacklers. He seemingly didn't know anything about the Explorers or Exceed and couldn't possibly be aware of Laquium or it's negative effects on pokemon. The public seemed to be convinced that Strong Spheres are great invention and generally safe to use in battles and only Liko and Roy knew just how wrong this assertion was.

But not Ult. He most likely was as clueless as anybody in audience. And yet it didn't take him to long to come to a clear conclusion:

In my opinion it shows just how detached he is from people in general and is able to form his own opinion without being influenced by a others, even if his thoughts contradict the opinion of majority (and he is not afraid to publicly state that, what a chad).

Next episode shows even more of how unsociable Ult is and how his is clearly not used to be around people for longer than a day.

And even when he ate all the pancakes you could clearly tell it wasn't done out of malicious intent, he just genuinely didn't realise they were supposed to be for everyone and, assuming he has been travelling alone before meeting Roy, it makes sense, since he had only himself and his own pokemon to think about.

Just like in pokemon battles he tends to do his own thing instead of trying to work as a team and rely on anyone but himself.

I also noticed a couple of instances of him being rather comfortable and enjoying a company of other pokemon instead of bonding with his companions, which is kinda cute tbh

He is not a people person that's what I'm trying to say.

Now I wanna talk about this one

Initially I thought he might be referring to some sort of mentor figure of his that is associated with this Dusk Ball in some way, but I believe that it's actually a pokemon that Ult owns and tries to win the approval of.

The next one is gonna be crazy but hear me out.

There is like probably zero clues to support this claim but what if this pokemon is...

Honestly it just randomly came to my mind and I couldn't just not mention it. I have a hunch.

(Ult and Ogerpon also look kinda similar, but it might be just me)
