Only just recently discovered Twisted Wonderland this week, speedread counting sheep and I have got a question. What’s Yuu (ewe)’s relationship with the Leech twins like? Ngl I think she and Floyd would be buddies. But like I said, my idea of their personalities is vague at best lol.

anyways lmaooo, I think answered this way back, but like Floyd is drawn to Yuu (ewe) in the same way he's drawn to Riddle, except it goes a step further because unlike Riddle, Yuu doesn't exactly find him annoying and would actually humor him. Or something like that.

She doesn't mind the nickname he gives her, though she is pretty confused on what to think of him since he's actually enamored with her and she just can't process the idea of someone liking her so fast. (don't tell Malleus)

He is most certainly part of the flock. :V

As for Jade, I also think I did one for him, but similar to Floyd, he is drawn to her, but he's more or less figuring out if he wants to invest in these feelings of his, while Yuu listens intently whenever he goes on about mushrooms since she likes mushrooms (well, eating them, but she likes looking at some pretty cool mushrooms too).

That being said, if one of the twins is involved, then the other is involved by default. And Azul is also involved in this mess, too, sooo...oop. :V

So, um, just so I’ve got it all straight in my head (and tbh family genealogy is confusing af and I’m easily confused), bamf grandma married into the Yan (not sure if grandpa Yan is dead or not but I’m assuming he’s still alive) and that would make yrx’s mom a Yan by blood (maybe half Lan? Idk? Unless yrx is wrong and he’s just a family friend?) so yrx’s dad married into the Yan clan? I mean, I think I originally (and wrongfully) assumed yrx’s dad was a Yan and yrx’s mom married into the clan.

And this makes me realize that all I know about yrx’s paternal relatives is that his dad has (maybe) seven? (brain says seven?) siblings, most of which are boys? And that he used to be a soldier?

(Facepalm) Sorry this turned way longer than I wanted it to be and I started rambling... (flees into corner)

actually, you got it right the first time! it was yrz’s mom who married into the Yan. 

Laolao isn’t married at all. Laolao is completely aromantic. she liked sex well enough, but she never really wanted a husband/wife. she wanted kids so she had a friend knock her up and started building up her way out of the brothel. laolao is one of those people who never regrets anything she does. she is, in Lan Qingtian’s words, ‘a formidable woman’. 

it’s yrz’s mom who married into the Yan. Yrz’s mom grew up in the brothel, though she never had any interest in the work. she was more interested in cultivation as a kid, and worked through the books laolao had to reach pretty high-level cultivation all by herself. 

yrz’s dad met his mom in the Chinese equivalent of the red light district (he was lost) and it was love at first sight -- for him anyway. Yan-mama took a bit more convincing (in a non-creepy way) to get on board. eventually, they were married and had all their many children and the rest was history ^-^ 

Yrz’s dad has three elder brothers and three younger brothers. their parents passed when they were pretty young, yrz’s grandfather from war, and his nainai from complications in childbirth (she wasn’t a cultivator/yan). the rest of the ‘uncle army’ as yrz refers to them in his head, were overjoyed to have a maternal grandmother of some kind when yrz mom and dad got married, so they never cared about Laolao being a former prostitute. 

all the yan uncles are married and have multiple children, and all of them are older than yrz. he’s the ultimate baby of his family generation.

*raises head towards the heavens* I don’t know why I like this trash butterfly but I am LIVING for this AU! Seriously, I love the reasoning behind Aizen being instantly ‘mine’ because of loneliness, which is relatable but also funny because Ichi don’t give a shit if you’re the fecking Soul King or not. With her/him respect is EARNED, not given.

On a side note, I’m mentally rubbing my hands together and cackling with glee as I imagine Aizen’s reaction to finding out about Isshin. Btw, so this is like pre-Turn Back the Pendulum? Also, what do you think of GinIchi or do you ship Gin with Matsumoto? Urghh now I’m imagining chibi Gon Matsumoto meeting chibi Ichigo and infants Yuzu and Karin and being like ‘welp, guess we’re family now’ actually that sounds kinda weird now that I’ve said it out loud~~~

Aizen’s bullshit started cause someone didn’t put enough enrichment toys in his playpen so of course he’d latch onto Ichigo out of loneliness and that desperate desire to be seen and known. Please don’t send me justifications for Aizen’s bullshit I’m well aware and it wasn’t very gucci of him overall just let it lie and let me rest

Meanwhile Ichigo is like “get a personality Asshole-Taichou and then maybe come talk to me again”

And AIzen is so here for that it’s ridiculous.

And yeah the time line is wonky and I’ll have to do some shifting but just assume this entire AU starts before Aizen finally gives in and puts any of his bullshit from canon into play.

Don’t really ship much of Gin and anything but I do like him well enough.  Good motive, poor execution.  Though I could easily see Ichigo adopting both of Gin and Matsumoto because fuck it what’s 2 more to add to the mix.

I dunno how to ask this without making it sound like I’m asking for spoilers, which I’m enjoying the anticipation of learning as the story rolls on, so I’m just gonna sat it straight out, are we going to get scenes with baby Xi? I mean, I recently saw a series of pictures where baby wwx and lwz meet and so my imagination went wild with thinking maybe yrx met in a chance meeting with lwz or wwx at a much younger age but he just doesn’t remember it. But yeah, that probably is a bit too... out there? Mostly, I was enthralled by baby yrx admiring his mom’s erhu playing and cooing over how cute baby Xi must have been. Ugh sorry this got way too long. I guess what I’m really trying to ask if you had anything in mind to do with baby Xi?

probably not in the main story. it’s yrz pov and he already knows what he was like as a kid (and doesn’t like to think about it). we might get hints here and there, but nothing really concrete. 

for the side stories though... i already had one planned from Da-ge yan’s pov. 

if you want cute bby xi... well. yrz was not a cute child. yrz was a hell child. a traumatized hell child who was mourning the loss of literally everything he knew and loved. he threw the worst temper tantrums, screaming, crying, breaking shit (these people are not my family, where the fuck am I??? i want to go home!) when he wasn’t basically comatose.  he refused to even speak for years. honestly, the only reason his family let him stay in gusu is that he really really improved once he got there. 

he scared the hell out of everyone, and his brothers still tend to treat him like glass even when they’re teasing him.

Continuing with yrx’s connection with snakes, wouldn’t that mean that zzl in the Bing-ge AU would be friendly with yrx? Like, awkward interactions with father-in-law and cousin lol.

yup! zzl is a sentient snake person so he falls into the ‘i just think he’s neat’ category lol.

OG!Luo Binghe getting a reality check and stealth-marrying Yan Ruizhi is my jam and I’m sorry that I haven’t been screaming about it from a rooftop before now. Honestly, I just picture yrx being just as oblivious to the fact they’re pretty much married for CENTURIES while lbh is thrilled with his life now as a househusband amid the various revenge plots and bs caused by lbh’s protagonist halo. Sqq and Bingmei meeting Bingge and Ruizhi, realizing that Bingge is the original goods is bound to be hilarious.

lbh latching on like a clingy octopus is an incredibly hilarious mental image. after a few centuries pass, yrz is like...... at least the food is good. their little house is probably the safest place in the world because by this point yrz did his thing and became super overpowered and learned all sorts of wards because he got sick of the bullshit lbh tracked in after him every damn day. not even the plot can get at lbh there, tbh.

lbh is living his dream, taking care of the various animals they’ve acquired from somewhere, cooking for his wife (his wife!!!! his!!!! wife!!!!!!!), going on various trips with yrz for spice, just living out all his domestic dreams. 

then one day, the sky cracks open and bing mei and sqq fall out of it, right onto binge's prize-winning cabbage-patch kids*.

yrz:.... why are there two lbhs. 

lbg and lbm: *spiderman meme* it’s you!

sqq:.....fucking protagonist halos 

yrz: oh shit, you too? *in English* bro.

Sooo... another weird question cuz I’m weird. I know the Yans aren’t that big of a sect but like, do they have colors that they all wear like the big sects do? Do they have a motto like the Jiang’s ‘attempt the impossible?’ Do the Yans count as a sect or are they too small? Just realizing how much I don’t know lol. And sorry about all the message spam lately. I’ve been trying to restrain myself but it hasn’t been working...

nah, no clan colors or anything formal. they do have a crest/seal but that’s just normal for families as extensive as they are (don’t ask me what the seal looks like i have no idea yet). no mottos either! 

the yan aren’t a sect because they’re not something you can just join. either you’re born in or you marry in. or you get randomly adopted in, that happens a lot for some reason. a yan sees a stray orphan and go ‘is anybody raising that?’ then not even wait for an answer.  they’re more like a clan. and yrz would be considered part of the ‘main branch’ even though that's not really a thing with them. his da-ge is in charge of the home village where the yan main base is, basically.
