Hey guys! Meant to post this sooner, but if you’re a fan (or not because you can become a fan here) of Star vs. The Forces Of Evil, there’s a chat I joined. It’s small right now and we want to get it up and running. Thanks and hope to see you there!
Was I the only one who noticed the way Moon and River were acting during that mirror call? Not only were they unusually calm about the butterfly family spellbook being taken, but they didn’t even react with surprise when learning about it. Even their sad reactions looked strange.
THEORY TIME!
Okay, so imagine this…
When Ludo obtained the spellbook, we learned that he left his hideout on Mewni. Also, judging from the spying spell Star used, we know he’s inside a building that is very dungeon-esque, with chains on the walls, and weapons laying on the ground. This building also has torches, which show that they are still most likely on Mewni, as Mewni doesn’t have electricity. But, it still has an apparently abundant chocolate pudding supply, as seen by Glossaryc’s ‘flavor heaven’ moment.
This leads me to believe that there is only one place Ludo is hiding…
Ludo has secretly taken control of the butterfly’s palace, and is holding River and Moon hostage.
This would explain their reactions during the call, as they already processed the fact that Ludo has the spellbook. This also explains their insistence that Star let them handle it, as they don’t want:
1. The second half of the wand falling into Ludo’s hands. 2. Star to get injured or killed.
And although they said that they will handle it, they simply shared a sad knowing look with each other, as though they knew that they were resigned to their fates.
This might be a small detail to notice as well, but we never see Moon and River’s perspective from their side of the mirror. For all we know, Ludo is holding a wand pointed at them to make sure they don’t say something too revealing.
Oh lookie here, only one episode in and I’m already plotting the rest of season 2.
Edit: Aaaaaaaaaand, I'm wrong. 😏
Young River: I want to wake up with you every day for the rest of our lives
Young Moon: I wake up at 4:30 AM
Young River: I want to see you at some point every day for the rest of our lives
