The reason Sea Dragon Leviathans live so exclusively in the Lava Zones is because their bodies are so large that they require an incredible amount of underwater pressure to keep themselves from falling apart (and also because their eggs need to be kept very warm to be incubated properly).

If a Sea Dragon Leviathan were to roam to the upper zones (Lost River and above) for too long, they'd die from depressurization, the way some deep-sea animals do when brought up.

Reaper Leviathans, however, have bodies dense enough that they can enter deeper pressure zones for some time - and they certainly do this, given they have competition for food from other Reapers, as well as the Ghosties.

So.. some of them will venture the Lost River in hopes of finding more prey in the form of Crabsquids and River Prowlers. Which, overall.. makes them an easy, nutritious target for hungry Sea Dragons who sometimes find them at these more comfortable depths.

Sea Dragons will also prey on very young Ghost Leviathans that are foolish enough to enter the Lava Zones to sate their appetites.. but leave the more grown ones alone since they're too tough to consume, and don't want to incur the wrath of these pack predators. The reason no remains of Ghost Leviathans are found is because they have no true skeleton - and Sea Dragons will eat every part of this leviathan.

RIVER PROWLER

Truly the most horrifying of all things: a skeleton. Did you know that you have a skeleton inside you RIGHT NOW? The River Prowler sure does. As far as bony fish go, it is very well-stocked on calcium and doots. Did I miss anything? Right, right, thank Mr. Skeltal. Memes aside, the River Prowler is an appropriately themed predator for the Lost River biome. In a place full of giant skeletons and unsettling flora, it's frankly less immersion breaking to see a transparent, spooky eel than it would be to see something reasonable. The Lost River has such a tightly focused aesthetic that I'm not sure what else I would have included. Maybe a nice rest stop here or there? It's a really stressful place to be. Here's the part where I go really hard on speculative evolution! I personally see this as being related to the Ampeel. Both are cathemeral predators that live in trenches with a very similar body plan. The nodules that cover the Ampeel could easily diminish over time to become the River Prowler's spines, and it could lose the ability to generate electricity in favor of a more traditional hunting method. This is a little video-game-logic-ey, but the River Prowler's full body bioluminescence could be a remnant of its ability to generate full electrical currents, manifesting as small sparks instead of arcs. The rest of its body being transparent would be one method of solving the transition from passive to active predator; it's a lot harder to protect yourself against something hunting you if its body is partially see-through. The exact method by which its body is both transparent and muscular is kind of hard to explain, but it does bring me to my second theory. The River Prowler keeps most of its organs in its head. Look at that body. Do you see a heart or liver there? Nope! By my estimation, its "spine" probably behaves more like an intestine, with the rest of the stomach and various filtration organs somewhere in its plug-shaped head. To me, this also lends credence to its relation to the Ampeel. Being a natural battery takes up a LOT of room, so the Ampeel probably employs a similar head-full-of-organs trick as well. Plus, the idea of the River Prowler realistically just being a little head with a big trailing jellyfish body is too funny to me to pass up. Do I think its body makes any sense? Not really. Do I think it offers some great world building possibilities and interesting speculative evolution? Hell yeah.
