Okay, listen! Literally 90% of people are not going to know who Eight, Liv and Helen are because most DW fans haven't listened to Big Finish - and honestly, you're missing out on some of the best DW content there is!
But anyway, point being: If you don't think there is a greater friendship than Eight, Liv and Helen you are wrong and here is why!
First of: They are actually a well balanced team with each of them having strengths and weaknesses. With Liv and Helen, the Doctor isn't always the smartest person in the room! They are a super capable lot but also able to be complete idiots together, it's wonderful. They're all doctors! Like, actually. Liv is a med-tech, so an actual doctor, and Helen is a doctor of linguists. Helen can fly the TARDIS and Liv can fly almost anything else, they're super smart, brave and determined - and take none of the Doctor's shit!
They rely on each other SO MUCH, having complete faith in each other, some moments include:
Eight: "Liv, Helen, you're my best friends. I believe in you!" (Doom Coalition 4.1 - Ship In A Bottle)
Helen: "We’ll save you." Doctor: "I don’t doubt it. I have faith." (Ravenous 2.2 - Better Watch Out)
Liv: "Come on, Helen. Please, please. The Doctor had faith in us, and I’ve got faith in you. Don’t let me down. You never have before." (Ravenous 2.3 - Fairytale of Salzburg)
Helen: "They will find me, you know. The Doctor and Liv. They’ve come for me once, they’ll do it again." Missy: "Maybe they will, maybe they won’t." Helen: "Trust me, they will." (Ravenous 4.3 - The Day of the Master)
I can't name all the times these guys have put themselves in harm's way for the others. Helen literally spent 40 (!) years of her life travelling alone in the TARDIS to save her friends, giving up her life to do so, if it hadn't been for Liv returning her youth to her.
Their bond is so strong, it's unreal. They have been through SO MUCH together. They even make a sort of suicide pact when they believe there is a chance they will all fall victims to vampires! The Doctor asks Liv to stake him, if the time comes, and Liv assures Helen that if worst came to worst, they would "go out together in a blaze of glory."
Also, their friendship dynamic is outstanding! Where the Doctor is his usual excitable, mad self, Liv is sarcastic and outspoken, while Helen is mild-manner and optimistic. They balance each other perfectly in every way that matters!
They love each other unconditionally, there is no doubt about that, (Liv and Helen in a not entirely platonic way but that's a different story XD), I mean, the girls threw Eight a birthday party of goodness sake.
And let's not forget that they're all queer in some way or another! Which is reason enough to vote for them!
I will leave you with memes to make the point for me.
Make an informed decision with your vote... and listen to the Eighth Doctor audio range XD
YES! THIS. THIS WHOLE THING
AMAZING
Hi! Just wanted to say thank you for reblogging my fics with such regularity. Particularly when it's a rare ship like Liv/Helen, that's just really nice. So thank you ❤️❤️
Thank you for being such a prolific writer! We love seeing new and rare ships, because there's always someone else out there shipping them who thought they were the only one!
You do realise I have to ask about eldritch helen right? 👀 sonomancer!Helen my beloved wasted plot line........
Okay! This is one I haven't got that far into writing yet, and because my writing process most of the time is "go along with it and see what happens", I have no idea how it'll eventually end up to be honest 😅
Long story short, I've been toying with the idea of Helen being lowkey eldritch for ages now - I kinda love the idea that she doesn't go full "superpowered entity" very often, but she's not quite able, as a human, to repress her abilities enough to hide them completely, so seems ever so slightly off to other people. Like, they can't tell exactly what it is, but they can tell that there's something very deeply wrong with her and that she's not entirely human anymore, and the plot (as much as there is one atm) is sort of riffing off that concept, and the idea of her powers manifesting in a more subtle (though still disturbing) way on the surface, while still being very strong underneath.
Could you please do this meme for Liv, Helen and Caleera's influence/Sonomancer!Helen? 😬😬😬
Fully understood the assignment as Liv/Helen/Caleera, so that's something that exists now. Have to say also, inspired a bit by what transpired recently on the Liv and Helen blogs. I'm weak for a TRL plot line.
Some vampire Liv shenanigans, for @riversofmars who also happened to kickstart this thought. Oops?
@riversofmars naming her dog Narvin has permanently changed listening to ‘Gallifrey’ for me, Rassilon bless.
Happy Friend-a-versary to myself and the brilliant @riversofmars ! I’m so glad to have met you, still, and to get to create these awesome things we do with and alongside you! Much love, bestie!
