Could you please do this meme for Liv, Helen and Caleera's influence/Sonomancer!Helen? 😬😬😬
Fully understood the assignment as Liv/Helen/Caleera, so that's something that exists now. Have to say also, inspired a bit by what transpired recently on the Liv and Helen blogs. I'm weak for a TRL plot line.
I think I’ve surpassed the threshold of knowing how many times I’ve listened to #DoomCoalition box sets. Likely same for #Ravenous. @bigfinishconfessions
Caleera: *hunts down and tortures the person who manipulated her across time and space*
Me:
I’ve finished Doom Coalition. Yay me! It was mostly a re-listen, except for the last two episodes (I did listen to Songs of Love but it seems to have erased itself from my memory - which says a lot about what I think of it).
Like the first time, I’ve been really taken with the first boxset and Helen, my lesbian bean. I love this team tardis and their interactions - especially Liv who isn’t afraid to take Eight down a peg or two. Eight is cute and sweet and all but he can also be a complete bastard with his companions (Charley in Scherzo is the first that came to my mind, but he also completely forgot two of them and it did take him a while to warm up to Lucie) and Helen is no exception. He’s unfair and harsh with her in Absent Friends and Ship in a Bottle andLiv standing up for her both times sent huge lesbian vibes that I definitely couldn’t miss.
I’ve also warmed up a lot to the Sonomancer that I didn’t like the first time. The last episode really changed my opinion of her and I think I understand her better (I was jubilating when she settled a score with Padrac - you go girl). Incidentally, the “female power” thingy wasn’t very subtle but it was appreciated nonetheless: I liked the parallel between Caleera and Helen, and the fact that if Helen does deserve redemption, Caleera doesn’t.
I also fell hard for the Eleven - I’m so excited that he’s back in Ravenous. I also have a soft spot for the Eight (and he even had his moment to shine in Stop the Clock, that’s a good boy), and the Nine is kinda fun.
The only thing that bothered me a teensy bit was the over-the-top touch of it. Gallifrey is going to be destroyed so to prevent it, let’s destroy the rest of the universe. Yeah, great idea Padrac. The amount of eye-rolling I made when he was talking must have set a new record. And yeah we all know the Time Lords are big drama queens but ... yeah ... a bit too much.
Anyways, here goes my top three episodes for Doom Coalition :
1- Absent Friends
2- The Red Lady
3- Ship in a Bottle
(three episodes from three different box-set, well done me. Also, let’s not forget Scenes from her Life, The Eighth Piece/The Doomsday Chronometer and Stop the Clock that are all very close behind)
Now I have a very important question: shall I listen to Ravenous or the Time War first? Does it even matter? I’d like to start with the Time War because I can’t wait to meet Bliss but I don’t want to spoil myself anything from Ravenous.
Decadent, Degenerate, and Rotten to the Core!
I can’t wait to relisten to Doom Coalition 2 and particularly Scenes from Her Life because honestly my enjoyment of and appreciation for Caleera has gone up dramatically.
LOOK AT ME
As per my name in the Rare Pair Discord server being 'The Red Lady', a fitting icon had to be made. It being my icon means she's based on what I look like, rather than Emma Cunniffe who voices her in the audios.
