So I was going to write a little oneshot for Christmas but I ran short on time so here’s a few Tenna thoughts I had (Christmas related) (and a couple Defernull Tenna thoughts at the end)

- He has a sweater that looks just like his usual suit (minus the coattails). You find this adorable (as you should)

- He would LOVE to make breakfast with you on Christmas morning. He can show you the butterscotch pancake recipe he picked up from heading Toriel make it! Tenna’s terribly nostalgic, so it isn’t surprising that he wants to share that with you. Just, keep an eye on him while he’s making them. It should be fine (since it isn’t baking), but it’s better to be safe than sorry

- He absolutely would try to make the entirety of winter feel a little like a romcom you’d see on TV (especially during January when there’s usually nothing to look forward to). He’ll tone it down if you ask, but he still wants the season to feel special. Especially if you have seasonal depression and tend to be down around the holidays. (He will listen if you say you need a little alone time. He’s not the best with being patient and he will miss you even if you’re only gone for a few minutes, but he’ll wait. He wants you to be happy, after all)

- He’ll adore any gift you get him. YOU got it for him, after all. If you give him something handmade, he’ll cry. (They’re tears of joy, I promise!)

- He likes to spoil you with his presents. But if you say you’d prefer something smaller, he’ll hold himself back the best he can. He also will make sure that at least one thing he gets you is not his own merchandise. But he does like to gift you TV Time merch. You look fantastic in the branded clothes

- Tenna believes in Santa Claus. You honestly probably don’t even know this until he directly asks you why Santa doesn’t visit your house. He thinks you should be on the “ULTRA nice list”, after all. Pretty much everything he’s ever aired has involved Santa being real, and no one ever told him otherwise. It’s okay. You can tell him. He’ll only be sad for a minute. He’s at least comforted that Santa doesn’t have a personal vendetta against you

Also you know Defernull Tenna (I’ll call him Ant)? I also have some thoughts on him:

- He does not like the idea of making the winter season feel like a romcom. At all. He’d rather have his legs cleaved off. …maybe he wouldn’t mind too much if it’s just with you, though. But you’ll never hear him say that out loud.

- Ant doesn’t like to wear silly Christmas sweaters. Most of the time he’s just in a modified version of his usual suit (the only difference is this one has a little silver embroidery and it exists solely because viewer retention is higher when the show is themed after the nearest holiday. That being said, the suit looks nice)

- Do not let this man in the kitchen. He’ll use a chainsaw to cut the food. If you hide his chainsaw it’ll go fine. He’ll just sulk a little while you both make breakfast together (it’s mostly performative though)

- 99% of the presents he gives you are his own merchandise. Especially clothes. He likes seeing you wearing his merch. He’ll only really start to get you non-TV Time branded things after you’ve been in a relationship for a while

- If you give him something handmade, he’ll damn near short circuit. If anyone asks about the new thing on his desk in a tone that even vaguely implies he shouldn’t have it there, he’s throwing them in the piranha pool. He’ll like anything you get him, though (even if he’s not great at showing it)

- He’s still hesitant to show his flower, even around just you. He might try to not restrict it on Christmas (but he still may hold his nose out of habit)

- Ant also believes in Santa Claus. He won’t really be heartbroken if you tell him the truth, though. He doesn’t have much of an opinion on Santa except for the fact that he thinks it’s bullshit that you don’t get at least 30 presents every year. It suddenly makes sense once you explain

If this reads like me sorta still trying to figure out how to write Defernull Tenna, it’s because I kind of am (and I think I’m doing somewhat okay)

Thunderstorm

Inspired by real events (I wrote this impulsively because of a thunderstorm)

Pairing: Tenna (Deltarune) x GN!Reader, romantic, pre-established relationship (it’s ambiguous if you’re married or not so you can choose that but you do live together)

Not important to the plot of this at all but you’re his co-host because I think that idea is fun. Also on AO3 (my first post on AO3!)

Your day was going as usual. Both you and Tenna had the day off, so you two were doing your own thing around the house. You were relaxing in the living room, working on your latest crochet project. In the distance, you can hear the low rumble of thunder, causing you to tense up. You’d never liked storms. Because it storms here so rarely, you hadn’t brought it up with Tenna. You take a deep breath and try to focus on your stitches. It works for a few minutes, until you catch a glimpse of a bright flash outside immediately before a loud clap of thunder shakes the house. The lights flicker for a moment, and eventually go out. You quickly mark your place in your project and get up to look for your lover. “Tenna, honey!” You speed walk your way through the house, slowly gaining speed as your anxiety increases. A quieter rumble of thunder sounds through the halls, accompanied by a crash from your shared home office (which he isn’t really supposed to be in on your day off). You rush toward it, but bump into someone on the way. You both fall backwards. Looking up, you see Tenna looking a little nervous. He’s slightly shorter than usual, and his antennas are bent over. You both scramble to get up, and accidentally talk over each other.

“There you are!”

“Were you in the office?”

You both pause. Your partner awkwardly smiles. “…well. I. You know! Just. Glancing at the schedule for next week!!” You playfully roll your eyes. “Sugar-” Whatever comment you were about to make is cut off by a soft roll of thunder. You tense up; and more surprisingly, Tenna tenses up. You both just look at each other for a moment. You’re the first to speak up, “Are you afraid of thunder?” Tenna almost looks as if you caught him taking your lunch from the mini fridge in your office (again). He tries to brush it off. “HA!! Me? What?? SCARED?? No! Of course not!! I’ve never been scared a day in my LIFE!!! Haha!” Just as he says that, a particularly violent clap of thunder shakes the house. Tenna screams the most high pitched yell you’ve ever heard from him, leaps up into the air, and shrinks enough so he can land in your arms in a bridal carry. You hold back a chuckle. “…never scared a day in your life, huh?” He laughs nervously and hides his face in your neck. Another strike of lightning shines through a window, making you hold onto each other tighter. “You’re scared of thunder too, dear?” Tenna’s voice is quieter than usual. You nod. “Yeah.” You start walking toward your bedroom, figuring that’d be the most comfortable place for both of you to be. Tenna makes no move to get out of your arms. He’s perfectly content to just let you carry him around, if the pink glow on his screen is any indication. His antennas are bent in the shape of a heart now, too. You have to pause when Tenna looks toward you and not ahead. “Honey, I can’t see if you’re not looking ahead. You’re the only light we have.” His antennas stand up straight before relaxing a little. “Haha, sorry, my star,” he chuckles, now glowing a darker pink. “It’s hard not to look at you.” You just barely see him smirk at your own blush as he turns to look ahead of you two. The quiet rumble of thunder makes you pick up the pace.

Once in the bedroom, you practically throw your partner onto the bed. He immediately grows back to his normal height. “Golly, dear! Careful with the merchandise!” Before you can respond, a crack of thunder causes Tenna’s screen to turn to static. “Tenna!?” You quickly jump into bed and shake him. You’ve never seen this happen before. “Tenna?! Are you okay!?” Your shaking gets slightly more aggressive as you get more nervous. Suddenly, his screen goes back to normal and he speaks, “AAAAND we’re BACK, folks!!” You jump back a little in surprise. “APOLOGIES for that SURPRISE COMMERCIAL BREAK, dear!” He must see how worried you look, because he immediately takes your hand. “I’m alright! Storms tend to…mess with my signal. I’ll be okay! Cross my circuits!” He uses his free hand to draw a cross on his chest, making you giggle. “Alright, good. You scared me for a second.” A clap of thunder causes Tenna to pull you close and hold you like a teddy bear. You hold on to his shirt, quickly relaxing. You lay your head against his chest, and your anxiety slowly fades away. He buries his screen in your hair, careful not to poke you in the head with his nose. The mechanical whirring in his chest drowns out the storm outside. Holding onto you has helped Tenna relax, too. Thankfully, there aren’t any more lightning strikes powerful enough to completely shut him down, but a few cause him to go static-y for a moment.

After a while, the storm calms down to a light drizzle. The two of you stay in your cuddled up position, but you’re both significantly calmer. The power company texts you. “They say the power will be back in an hour. Bets on it taking longer than that?” Tenna laughs, “I bet you it’ll be at least an extra half hour before the power comes back on.” You chuckle. “I bet it’ll be at least an hour and a half extra.”

“You’re on!”

You set your phone back down. You glance up at his screen. “So, what was that crash in the office earlier?”

“…I was startled and dropped my coffee mug,” Tenna says, clearly avoiding your gaze despite his lack of visible eyes. You nod, holding back a laugh. Then, you remember something. “Tenna, sugar?”

“Yes, dearest?”

“I’m getting a lock for the office.”

“Damn it.”

Cookies and Cocoa

Darkiplier x Reader

Listen. I was going to do a headcanon list like I usually like to do for holidays (well…the two I’ve made). But I started drawing a Christmas thing and I got short on time. I didn’t l sleep the night before Christmas so I was too tired to write this on the day of so. Here’s a little thing (a couple days late). This is definitely a Christmas thing mainly because I’ve done so many Christmas activities it’s all I’m thinking of. The title sucks I know

Pairing: Darkiplier x gender neutral reader, romantic, pre-established relationship

Reader could be the DA or not. That’s up to reader interpretation. I think this counts as a short fic?

You knew that Dark wasn’t planning on celebrating Christmas with everyone else. He was planning on staying in his office to work while the rest of the manor had a party. However, you weren’t going to let that happen. You won’t force him to go to the party, but you aren’t going to just let him sit in his office and work on Christmas. You get ready, putting on a comfortable but still nice looking holiday outfit. You also get a couple mugs of hot chocolate and cookies on a tray for the two of you.

As the party starts, you head to Dark’s office. You hold your tray with one hand and knock on the door. “Dark? Are you still working?” He calls to you from inside the office. “Yes, but you can come in, darling.” You open the door and walk inside, shutting the door behind you. As you walk in, you notice a mistletoe hanging near the door. Dark certainly didn’t hang it up. You’re sure it was most likely Wilford who hung it up while he was setting up all the decorations in the manor. Dark has his suit jacket hung up on a coatrack, so it looks like he wasn’t expecting company. Taking off his jacket is about as casual as he gets when he isn’t in pajamas. You set your tray on an empty part of Dark’s desk. “Sweetheart, you shouldn’t be working on Christmas. I brought you a cup of hot chocolate and some cookies.” He looks up from his papers at the tray, and then at you. “Thank you, dear.” He smiles slightly. You gently take his pen out of his hand and set it on his desk. “Take the rest of the night off? Please?” He thinks for a moment. “Alright,” he sighs. “But I’m not going to the party with the others.” You take his hand and pull him out of his chair. “I didn’t think you’d want to go. That’s why I brought cookies and hot chocolate here for us.” Dark takes your hand back and kisses the back of your palm. “Thank you, darling.” You move the tray of cocoa and cookies to a table near a couch inside the office. Before he can sit down, you lightly tug him under the mistletoe. Noticing you looking up, he looks up as well. “Darling, you could have just asked,” he chuckles. He pulls you close, and softly kisses you. You wrap your arms around him and kiss him back. After a moment, you both pull back, blushing slightly. The two of you sit on a couch in his office. You lay your head on his shoulder, and he wraps his arm around your shoulders. You pick up your mug and sip your hot chocolate. Dark takes a cookie as well as his own hot chocolate. You both relax, just enjoying each other’s company.

…

A loud crash comes from downstairs. You and Dark look at each other, silently agreeing that you’ll deal with whatever chaos that was later. You’d both rather relax for a while.

Howdy! I’m River! If you’d like, you can also call me Glacier or Mako (pronounced May-ko; like the shark species).

What do I write?

I write character x reader. Currently I only have writing for the Markiplier egos and characters, very little for the Jacksepticeye egos, and Tenna from Deltarune, but I may dabble in writing other characters (Starlo from Undertale Yellow, for example).

I’m most comfortable writing SFW. I may occasionally write something suggestive, and I’ll label it as such. If I try writing NSFW, it’ll likely only be on my AO3. I’ll post a link here. Reader is gender neutral by default and I’ll specify when they aren’t. All romance is adult x adult. I don’t really write smoking because it makes me uncomfortable.

Other accounts?

Here on Tumblr, I have two other blogs. @gaymingintrovert is my main blog and @gaymingartist is my art blog (which I rarely use). I also have a selfship blog where I reblog suggestive/NSFW things so that one is 18+ (@gaymingselfship).

I also have an AO3 account where my newer writing will be (“newer” meaning anything from May 8, 2025 and onward since that’s when I made the account).
