“hey, hyung.“ is how jihoon started the conversation as he catches up to jinki on what he assumes, is his way out of the building and towards the dorms. “do you have a favorite girl group?“ he asks, because he was starting to get curious. kt had just debuted a new group, and from what he read all over the internet was that netizens speculated trc would debut one as well. so overall he was curious. maybe he’d say luxe? maybe another group, who knew.

“ah, also, are you heading home?“ he asks, looking up at the elder as he pulled his face mask up to cover half of his face. it was just a bit after schedule had ended for everyone, and if you asked jihoon, everyone was dying to leave. somehow, he missed the trainee days, but at the same time, he really couldn’t allow himself to go back to them. “i was planning on dropping by the convenience store before that. wanna join?“ so many questions were asked, and jihoon wasn’t going to be upset if jinki missed one, or all of them really.

« CONVEX showcase overview »

boys, boys and more boys! anyone who knows me knows i’m a big fan of boy groups (mostly), so, when i heard of a showcase on the 30th of june for a new sphere boy group, called CONVEX, consisting of no less than 13 boys, well, it’s safe to say my ass was at that performance hall even before the doors opened. i couldn’t keep myself away! i simply had to see the hot new talent one of my favourite companies was releasing into the world, and let me tell you, it was worth every minute spent on the packed subway. i enjoyed myself so much during the afternoon show that i went right back for the evening one, eager to see those beautiful boys a second time.

so, without further ado, i’m going to give you my opinions on these boys and who i think they are - some i know, some i have yet to learn even the names of. 

the group, as some may already have heard, is split into three sub-units, the vocal unit, the performance unit, and the rap unit (which makes recognising each member so much easier - thank you again, baek jiyoung, for you’re truly outstanding intellect ).

LET’S START WITH THE VOCAL UNIT! 

hong jonghyun

here’s a face i’ve seen before - at first i couldn’t put my finger on where from, but then it clicked. i saw a picture back in 2015 of this man kissing one park ‘piper’ eunji, a kt trainee at the time (who i followed casually for a while). not to bring up old, forgotten things, though. since then i’m sure i saw him in a sphere concert before. needless to say this guy’s been floating around for years now, and boy am i glad he’s finally surfaced. the talent this man has is incredible. not to mention he’s painfully attractive. in short, i’m excited to see more of him. the showcase wasn’t nearly enough to sate my hunger. 

lips (kim jinwook??)

this is one i’m unsure on, but lord does it feel like i’ve seen him before, and he could be kim jinwook who was on mga season 3, but i’m not 100% sure. nevertheless, he’s got a beautiful voice. the showcase was enough to prove to me that this boy has what it takes to go far with that voice of his. might not be exactly ‘my type’, but he’s surely talented, and his lips are somethin’ else!

felt his voice in my guts

what the heck do i even say about this god-given being?! when he sang my actual insides did about twenty-thousands flips, in the best way. he has such a soulful voice i want to hear just him sing a million ballads. he’s definitely making me feel things! could’ve sworn i saw him somewhere before too, but definitely not at vividly as the last two boys. even so, this guy is gonna go far, i feel it in my soul. he had great stage presence, and a smile that could light up the room. i truly love this guy.

mr eyesmile aka lee jinki

i’ve definitely seen this wonderful man before, and that was in mga season 3 as well; he was a finalist in fact. i knew him the moment i saw him, from the beautiful eyesmile no one could forget. he has this really sweet aura, and his voice, a very pure, clear yet delightful sound really works for his ‘nice guy’ appearance. he seems to know how to hold himself well on stage as well, clearly from being in front of audiences and cameras and judges before. overall, i’m really looking forward to seeing more of him.

anime baby boy

THIS BOY! never before have i seen such a beautiful boy (after my bf of course) who looked like he walked right out of an anime. he had this charming, sort of nervous feel to him, as if he was much newer to performing than, say, lee jinki. i have a feeling he’s a newer trainee, possibly around having been a trainee for around a year? that being said, he was truly a good pick for the boy group. his voice is soft and sweet, seemingly just like him, and though there does seem to be some distinctive personality and depth to his voice that really distinguishable to him. clearly, he’s my type, so this little one is very much in the running to be my bias in convex!

THAT’S IT FOR THE VOCAL UNIT! 5 down, 8 more to go! my next (convex) post will be on the rappers of convex, so keep an eye out for that!

I haven’t really heard or seen anything from the company….so I don’t think I have any favourites…who are even the trainees under them?!

hehe Luna no pants..she made me giggle, I always will remember that. 

I haven’t heard anything from her in a while, is she alive?! : O 

CONVEX ARE CUTE…..I didn’t go to the showcase cause I was at home doing homework but I seen pictures online and some fancams too! 

The  muscle man scares me >< I bet he is really nice but he frightens me o-o 

I like the small feisty one, he dances really well! He reminds me of kitty-cat! 

The guy always smiles all the time too! He’s really cute, I think his name is Jinki?! 

There was boy always seem to bouncing on stage in every photo…he’s super cute ><

Friendships are important but sometimes people change and the friendship tends not work no more or fade away due to not speaking or seeing each other no more. Minhee relations tend to be always fading away as always focus on working not realizing how long it has been since she meet so-so but this year she has been trying her best to keep her work life and social life balance. It’s easier to keep close to other trainees friends especially sphere because always seeing each other in the building and working together on projects. 

Minhee catches glimpse of her old friend Jinki, they used to be so close sharing the love certain video game series called dragon age and his dog was only one she could stand during the time of having an irrational fear of those animals. The girl knew he hasn’t really had time to spend with others except for the convex boys but she thought maybe she could steal him away for a little bit. The female walk up behind the male lightly tapping on his shoulder, “Aneth ara~” she greets him in dalish for fun because why not as smile happily, “long time no see Jinki! how you doing?” she asked while waving at him hoping he was happy to see him.
