if nana had a choice between riding elevators with a single, unknown person or taking the stairs, the latter would always be her number one choice – she would rather skip the whole awkward aura of being stuck in such close proximity with a stranger – it just wasn’t her cup of tea. but of course, life doesn’t work out the way you want it to for a good majority of the time, and that was something nana was slowly finding out the hard way.
standing inside the lonesome elevator of the codge, the girl was about to tap the ‘close door’ button as she concluded that no one else was going to take it down with her – only for her actions to be halted by a person slipping into the elevator at the nick of time. a small voice in the back of her head tells her that she maybe she should get off and take the stairs or even hold off on going back to her cabin just yet, but nana ignores it, instead bowing her head lightly in the direction of the boy while giving a small “hello ~ ” out of instinctive politeness. “are you going to the lobby too?” the brunette asks, round eyes flickering from the elevator’s touch pad to the other’s face as she taps the button to close the doors once and for all – three or more was generally called a crowd, and there was no need for everyone to clamber into the compact space all at once, nana thinks.
it doesn’t take long for the contraption to finally get started, making it’s descent towards the designated floor, and nana runs lithe fingers through silky brunette tresses idly as she eyes the electronic floor counter change from 3 to 2. there really wasn’t much that they could do now but wait until it reached the lobby, and just endure until then. she noted that it was already half way over, considering that the building only had three floors – or at least, that’s what she thought. a sudden loud, mechanical screeching noise erupts from the underneath their feet and she feels the whole elevator come to a stop, jerking her and the other next to her in the process. one of nana’s hands grabs hold of the wall for support and auburn hues widen as they dash from the touch pad that suddenly darkens, to the the floor indicator that’s no longer showing what floor their on, and then her head snaps over to the man just to make sure that all of that sunbathing she received once upon a time didn’t suddenly go to her head – because the elevator did not just stop on them, right? they were not suddenly stranded in a metal contraption, right?
“uh …” nana starts, her tone full of confusion and disbelief more than fear, because she’s never really been stuck in this type of situation and doesn’t really know what to do, “did … the elevator … just stop on us? like, i’m not just imagining things … right?”
