b/c this is what happens when a lot of character development shit happens in ur characters life but ur too lazy to write solos about it and shit !
in september, mitsuji sen asked her out on her birthday. a week later, her ex-boyfriend song minho told her he loved her. this left her feeling conflicted as hell because she had budding romantic feelings for sen, but also has lingering feelings for minho as well.
add on the stress of being a trainee at royal, she needed a break. which is why after chuseok, she took a week off of training and flew back to her birthplace of okinawa, japan.
there she stayed at the family beach house with one of her older brothers and basically had a long talk with him about the problems she’s been facing in korea.
he reminded her how she tends to run away from things when they get tough or don’t go her way ( i.e. ; how she left ldh because she felt like they weren’t using her talent by putting her in a group ) and how she can’t keep doing that with every problem, and helped her sort out her feelings -- which is how she came to the conclusion of remaining friends with sen.
she wasn’t sure if her feelings were legit or if they were “rebound” feelings and -- most importantly -- she was afraid of losing him. she sees how relationships could turn a best friend into a stranger and she didn’t want to happen with him since he’s extremely important to her. she told him this on his birthday and he seemed to take it well.
( speaking of, she feels absolutely awful for essentially rejecting him and will probably be seen overcompensating by spoiling the shit out of him for the next month or two. )
when it comes to song minho, she feels like they’re ... at a comfortable spot right now. nana feels like she’s finally done grieving over what he did to her ( or she’s at least in the acceptance stage ) and she can now talk about him more freely without resulting to extreme moods ( anger, sadness, etc. )
since august / september they’ve been seeing each other more regularly, and ofc they’ve gotten into knock-out-drag-out fights almost every single time. as of some months ago, she decided to stop fighting with him because she’s realized nothing comes out of it. she also realized that she’s been taking her confused feelings on out him -- the ones where she doesn’t understand why she still cares for him after he cheated on her -- and vowed to stop.
if one were to ask, she does still see a future with him, despite all they’ve been through. but since he hasn’t apologized ( though he has shown some remorse, she still waiting for him to say and prove that he’s sorry -- something that is a huge feat for the human embodiment of pride that is song minho ) and hasn’t shown that he wants to be with her, she is still keeping a considerable distance from him.
she also might kinda sort of love him too but lmao she isn’t going to admit this to him or herself any time soon.
she’s currently been a trainee at royal for over a year now !!
but despite that, she’s been unhappy for probably half of the time she’s been there.
it’s mainly because royal focuses on singing, and because she’s a very weak singer they make her feel like she’s useless even though she’s a good dancer and rapper.
there have been several times when she wanted to quit, most recently when her best friend and her closest friend in royal ( sungkyung and luhan ) both left around the same time. but she’s trying to not fall into old habits by running away, and is staying until there is a clear sign that tells her she should not be there.
with the new year, she’s vowed to stop looking at the downsides and focus on the positives of training. nana can be seen throwing herself more into dance lessons, coming up with her own choreography and trying out new dance styles.
she wants to become a better rapper as well, so while attending more lessons for that, she also can be seen mingling in the underground scene a bit more by attending more shows, analyzing what they do well and trying to apply that to her own style. also asking for help / advice from other rappers as well.
during her time at royal, nana has just kind of kept to the people she knew, but she’s decided to try to reach out to the other trainees as well.
while she’s not the type to wear her heart on her sleeve, she has been looking somewhat sullen and has generally been more quiet the past couple of months due to stress. now, she’s promised to make herself happy this year and because of that, she’s been more upbeat and generally in a good mood.
will probably dye her hair back to brunette sometime soon, she’s getting tired of the upkeep with blonde.
currently located in gangnam, she’s in the process of moving to seongbuk-gu in order to be closer to the royal building. ( that cuts a ~40-ish minute trip to a ~20-ish minute trip, and gives her more time to sleep!! for some reason she doesn’t want to live in dongdaemun idek )
