yewon, you're back girl, i could not be happier, this world needs your rays of sunshine
calling...
call connected–mother
“Finally!” it’s not like his patience was running thin, but the annoyance in his voice as the line continues to ring is evident. The way his foot is tapping impatiently on the floor could probably drive anyone crazy. He just doesn’t know what’s taking his parents so long to answer the video call, nevermind the fact that time zones actually exist because Sehun won’t call them when it’s incovenient for him (and because he thinks this is urgent. It’s not everyday he bears such great news). He almost taps on the end call button when finally the call connects.
“Sehun? Is something wrong, love?” his mother’s sleepy voice comes through the line as she tries to rub away the sleep in her eyes. It’s probably late, and her tired expression mixed with worry as she looked at him tugs at his heartstrings, making him feel bad about not waiting until it’s morning in London for him to make a video call. But then that would mean he needs to be awake at weird hours of the day and he had school the next day.

The nerves are practically eating him alive. His hands were sweaty and his heart is about seconds away from jumping out of his chest. The pep talk Yewon had given him did little to calm his nerves, obviously, his brain conjuring up hundreds of scenarios where he messes up and ruin the whole performance for them. He’s already given Yewon a hundred apologies in advance for that, and although the younger had already told him it’s okay and that they were in this together and that he’s not going to ruin it, he couldn’t help but still feel bad at possibly sucking big time at this.
a little bit of a stretch;
( `willow’s not sure if it’s her overflowing enthusiasm in everything she does, or the limited space they are in, which makes it impossible for her to stretch her limbs without hitting someone around her by accident. it’s been the fourth time she’s done it, with the last culprit being her foot poking yewon’s butt ( unintentionally, of course ) when she stretches her right leg. the dancer squirms to the opposite side a little as she laughs ) i swear i’m not doing it on purpose! my legs are just too long~ ( `how ironic that she, 165 centimeters tall, is making such a joke towards someone who’s almost as tall as her at 17 years old )

it had been so long since they had last spoken that yewon had lost count of the time. like most who drift apart, life had seemed to interfere with their friendship and distance them from each other. even so, yewon couldn’t forget him. what kind of friend would she be if that happened? she might have other obligations, but every once in a while he would cross her mind and she would wonder how key oppa was doing.
funny how fate had a way of making things happen.
she was in line to check out at a local convenience store because she had run out of lead for her mechanical pencil and needed to restock when out of the corner of her eye she spotted a familiar figure. she did a double take in disbelief, and her eyes widened almost comically. “key oppa?” she spoke carefully, as if time could somehow make her forget his name. “is that really you? what are you doing here?”
sometimes, kibum just needs a pick-me-up. sometimes it comes in the form of going over to taemin’s and just hanging out with him ( and sometimes yeri or yuri, if either of them happens to be there ) for a while. sometimes it comes in the form of going to sunshine studios and teaching one of his weekly classes there, getting to dance away from the pressure of royal. sometimes it comes in the form of simply sitting at home and giving himself a chance to be alone with his thoughts as he journals or just sits and allows himself to think. sometimes it even comes in the form of splurging on a few of his favorite snacks, which is what he’s getting ready to do now.
his weight and diet trainer would have a conniption if she saw what he was buying, and the thought actually made him smile. he doesn’t eat this kind of thing often, which is what makes it such a treat when he does. he gets in line behind a girl holding a few small things to buy, and pulls out his phone to check his instagram as he waits. however, before he can even open the app, he hears his name and looks up at the girl, puzzled.
his eyes widen as they land on the girl in front of him, who he recognizes now that he can properly see her face. “yewon?” he breathes, and after a few seconds the shock in his expression transforms into joy, and he grins at the younger girl. “i could ask you the same thing! i haven’t seen you in ages! you got into sphere, right? are you still there? how have you been?” the questions spill from his lips as quickly as he can think of them, and if his arms weren’t full of junk food he would have already hugged her.

she was roughly certain that yonsei university was the school her brother was attending. if she had to put that into a percentage… well, she would rather not. the number wouldn’t be the most ideal. (to be fair, she had her head so far deep into textbooks she couldn’t think–let alone keep track of where her brother was attending. all she knew was that he was likely to be moving out soon, but she was trying to forget that particular knowledge.) with no validation, she was admittedly very nervous about coming to the property, but her brother had forgotten his key at home. that just wouldn’t do.
the campus was large and searching it would be a daunting task. yewon unconsciously held the key close to her for comfort as she looked around for her brother. with each passing second, she only grew more anxious. she exhaled a defeated sigh as she accepted that the only way she would find him was with some assistance.
the student nearest to her didn’t appear outwardly intimidating–or at least that’s how yewon perceived her. yewon approached cautiously. her nerves made her hesitate halfway and reconsider her options, but she pressed forward in the end. standing in front of the other, she twisted and toyed with the key in her fingers. “h-hi–um, i’m yewon. i’m looking for my brother?” the stutters in her voice were obvious, and a pink flush warmed her cheeks as she noticed she was stumbling over her words. “he left his k-key at home,” she began to explain, “and i know he’ll need it so i came to bring it to him.” an awkward pause settled in before yewon realized she hadn’t gotten to her point. “c-could you help me? i-i mean if it’s not too much trouble?”
Koeun promised her they’ll go to the library together… but where the hell is she? Koeun’s class was supposed to end at least five minutes ago. Maybe she got caught up with talking to some other classmate of theirs? She looks at her phone. There’s no message from her roommate. Sighing, she throws her phone inside her school bag as she decides to read. Johnny, Yuta, and Ten had offered to keep her company, but she insisted that they go ahead to the library to get them a good table with seats for all five of them. Maybe she should have asked at least one of them to stay with her.
Sighing, she peruses her copy of What the Dog Saw for what is possibly the hundredth time. Johnny’s recommendations never disappoint her; after all, as an award-winning author himself, he knows what she would like. She looks around, but there’s no sign of her roommate. Did Koeun get lost again?
As she hears footsteps approach, she doesn’t bother looking up, as people walk around the area. However, it’s the hesitation in a young girl’s voice that has Wendy looking up from her book. Standing in front of her is a young girl, probably around Yeri’s age or younger, staring at her with possibly the most confused and lost puppy eyes she’s ever seen. Oh God… If there’s one thing she’s weak for, it’s children… especially lost children… “What’s your brother’s name? What year is he in and what’s he majoring in?” she asks. She wants to help this poor soul, but at the same time, Yonsei has a huge student body population. She’s only a freshman, and doesn’t know many upperclassmen, save for Luhan oppa and the members of the glee and musical theater clubs. “I’m only new here myself… but let’s see how I can help you… what’s your name again?”

everything in life had to be put on pause while she put all her efforts into her schoolwork. this much pressure couldn’t be good for her, especially when she wasn’t used to it. she had worn herself out this past month with all the studying she had done, and it was really starting to show. the papers in front of her were left untouched. she had finally hit a point where she couldn’t focus. the exhaustion was overwhelming. it was really no surprise when she started dozing off while sitting next to sehun at lunch, pressing gently into his shoulder.
the moment is short-lived. her eyes fluttered open upon the impact, and she pulled herself off of him too quickly. sparing him an awkward glance, she mumbled, “oh, i’m sorry, sehun.” there was a brief pause as she contemplated admitting it, but she spoke anyway, “i haven’t been getting much sleep lately. i’ve been doing this.” she gestured to the homework on the table. it never seemed to end.
Sehun tried his best to make sense of the set of math problems laid out in front of him, but sleep is quicker to invade his system than the equation he desperately needed to answer the problem. He wasn’t sure how much time had passed exactly, but he’s more than sure that he had spent more time in staring at his notebook than trying to actually do some work. His eyes are drooping already, his chin on the verve of slipping from where it had been resting on his hand that’s propped up on the table when he sways a little from a sudden weight on his shoulder, effectively waking him up.
Sehun grins, finding a sleepy Yewon cute. He bumps their shoulders playfully and tries to cover all their pending homework with his hands (which he’s almost successfulnin doing considering how big his hands are).
“Do you want to take a quick, power nap before we continue studying?” he asks, worry evident in his voice as he looks at her, a small smile on his lips. He’s hoping she’d say yes so he can have an excuse to ignore school work, but with Yewon being a good student and all, she might want to finish everything before they can laze around to their heart’s content and he doesn’t mind doing that, too. Plus, he would feel a lot better knowing Yewon’s getting enough rest.
