. . . empty spaces.
sopa sunbae
@rkyjun
the halls of sopa are both familiar and unfamiliar in the way that seonho has been here for nearing three years now and he should be aware of where everything is yet the teen often finds himself getting lost. it doesn’t help that since the day he started coming here to sopa he has been a trainee and now an idol.his time here has always been very slim and he knows that isn’t going to really change. he isn’t going to suddenly stop being an idol and thus his time here is always going to come second to his schedules.
sure, it means he ends up suffering through school work during schedules and at the dorm but well, it’s a give and a take, yeah.
“i... have.... no idea.” he mutters to himself as he stops in the hall. he’s in uniform despite the fact he was only going to the teachers office to collect and turn in school work. mask resting on his face though it’s been pulled down to just below his lips. everyone he goes to school with is already more than aware of who he is and while sometimes some of his classmates end up being a fan, they don’t bother him all that often. so he didn’t worry.
like a light in the dark he see’s someone obviously older ahead of him and it takes a millisecond for seonho to decide his next course of action. “excuse me! sunbaenim!” he calls crossing the distance with a combination of quick steps and long strides.

she can’t do wonders like the splits or putting your foot behind your head, but nakyung can easily reach her toes which some consider impressive. anything that impresses other people she considers a big win on her book. yoga is the hot girl activity she needs to get on. it’s not like she has the time or the money to go to a specialized yoga studio. this comes as the perfect opportunity to start things out. the fact kim jennie herself is teaching it simply solidifies her choice of going. plus, this counts as part of her trainee schedule. big wins all around.
following the instructions isn’t too hard on itself. as expected, they wouldn’t give an intensive class if it wasn’t specified on the title. with these things, they always tell you to maintain a safe space between the people around you. it’s what she kept in mind when she arrived, but not really the dude who got there right after her. she’s sure his foot is not supposed to be this close to her face, but she can’t make a scene in front of jennie eclipse. that’s a whole jennie eclipse and this is just some random dude. it’ll be okay.
it’ll be alright. just breathe in and out like she was told. except it’s a hard thing to do when a foot hits your nose. nakyung automatically lets go of the current yoga pose—which, of course, involved holding onto your foot, which some people can't seem to do! the girl holds onto her nose, but instead of screaming, she tries to only groan very softly. don’t make a scene. don’t make a scene.

right after having breakfast, kyungwon drives to yeoreum kindergarten where she is volunteering for the day. she’s been spending more time with kids lately; partly as a pr stunt for her newest book, but also because she genuinely enjoys seeing the smiles on their faces whenever she comes to read stories with them. pulling up to the small school yard, she parks her car and walks inside.
her eyes spot a bit more personnel than usual− the school is having a bigger event today. “good morning.” she greets the head teacher. they talk for a short while, the older lady explaining that there are other volunteers today who will help conduct the class and play with the children. kyungwon is going to read them a story after lunch, right before their nap time. prior to that she’s free to join the other volunteers in entertaining the children. additionally, just as her publisher had told her, she spots a filming crew.
“are they the ebs staff?” she asks, curious. the teacher nods, “they will be using some of the footage for their tv program. it’s ebs so we’re hoping more parents would send their children to yeorum.” thanking the teacher, she enters one of the classrooms, noting that a young man has already started playing with some of the kids. another child tugs on her hand as she sets her bag down and she responds with a wide grin.
catching fire

if he’s being honest, he’s a little –– no, he’s a lot nervous. it’s not exactly a solo schedule since he’s got two other trainees helping him out ( which he’s most definitely thankful for! ), but he’s more or less leading this workshop. when he’d entered his idea, he wasn’t quite sure just how interesting a body percussion workshop would be like, yet one way or another, samsung had decided to go along with it.
he stands by the front of the room, playing with his fingers as he awaits the ‘students’. how should he address them? guys sounded too informal while, fellow students sounded a little too formal. everyone. yea, he should go with everyone. that sounded better.
he’d already thought up the plan for the workshop, had videos and gifts ready, he’d attempt to win their hearts with gifts of course! as he awaits their arrival, he spots a familiar face. it takes him a moment, but not too long, to put the name to the face.
“choi yeonjun...?” he asks as he approaches the boy. immediately he breaks out into a smile, and he wonders if the relief is obvious on his face. “hi!” he beams, “a-ah, sorry i got a little too excited seeing you here!” he blushes, embarrassed at how loud he must’ve been. he scratches the back of his neck and smiles. “wow! you signed up for body percussion, huh? why? do you find it very interesting?” he asks, and it’s only then when he realizes that he might be talking to yeonjun a little too casually –– after all, they’d only ever met three times before. “oh, sorry again,” gently he pats his own mouth as he pouts. “i’m just really glad to see you here! it’s nice having a familiar face! honestly... i’m kinda nervous,” he whispers, crinkling his nose.

he was here, yet again.
having had enough of attempting to shop for clothes, he wanders ; away from the clothes and towards the relics that were on the other side of the market. somehow finding himself in the piles of vinyls and vintage records that one vender had to offer.
he’s leafing through a few in a box, taking note of the old musicians that began to pop up in the box. his eye wanders, a sense of nostalgia filling him as he realizes how many of the ones he sees are stocked somewhere in his aunt’s home -- things he couldn’t part with when his parents had departed ; things he also couldn’t bear to really look at anymore.
but here, here it was nice seeing them. it reminded him of what once was.
it was a nice feeling.
( at least it had been until he sees something he never thought he’d see again ) he watches as the stranger beside him pulls a notable record from one of the boxes -- a limited edition vinyl of his father’s band, there had only been five copies ever made in the world. the sight of it made him blink in wonderment, even he had trouble getting a copy and he was the son of the person who made the record.
ah, memories -- he wonders how much it’d go for now. knowing how sought after it had been nearly a decade ago.
ʚ so that’s it
Yeosang considered himself a pretty strong person, as egoistic as that may sound. After all, he managed to survive after being cut off from his family, making ends meet with a part-time job, and found a goal for himself, even if he wasn’t sure how to achieve it exactly, without shedding a single tear.
So why was it that something as small as this affected him so?
It wasn’t much, really. Yeosang just happened to pass by his brother on his way back from work, causing a small spark of excitement that he thought was lost returning to him in that moment. He waved at his brother with a genuine smile, along with the nearly uncontrollable desire to run up to him and ask him how he had been doing, talk about Yeosang’s own life since leaving the cursed mansion that tore them apart - whatever came to mind.
His brother only brushed him off, turning his head as if Yeosang wasn’t really there.
No, Yeosang shed no tears. Dread merely settled upon his shoulders, staying until he reached his apartment, melancholy bubbling within his chest. The burden stayed and persisted to the point where he barely noticed the ringing of his doorbell.
Right, Yeonjun was coming over today.
Practically dragging his feet to the door, he mustered up the best smile he could before opening the door to let the other in. “Hey.” The tone of Yeosang’s voice was laced with enervation, which he hoped didn’t show too much. “I kinda forgot to get food so - uh - we can order pizza, maybe?” He gave a laugh, internally scoffing at how awfully crooked it sounded.
