Lila and Kagami 👀

Someone already asked about Lila, so I’ll just talk about Kagami here so I can do Lila there, if that’s alright! Thank you for the ask! ^^ Now Kagami... Well, I believe I said my feelings on love rivals when speaking of Luka. Usually they are a waste and just a distraction for the plot, a manufactured way to cause tension.  When I saw Kagami I expected what we got from Lila, Chloe, and/or Wayhem. Instead, I came out of her debute rather surprised. I wouldn’t say I liked her at first because it took me some time to fully understand her and grasp the idea that wow... love rivals can be good. I was excited at the prospect of Adrien having a crush on this strong girl who only seemed to have respect for him. I found her refreshing and she reminds me a lot of my father. Hard time understanding emotions, a bit cold at first, but focused and always able to spot the inefficiencies and make them efficient. I found the way she spoke about her family also a nice refresher because she wasn’t doing it because they were abusive like poor Adrien’s side, but because failure was a weakness in her family. It is a bit of a toxic way of thinking but this is what some people genuinely believe. She seemed to believe it herself. If I may side track for a second... It reminded me of the show NCIS. There’s this character named Leroy Jethro Gibbs. He started out like Kagami but almost more... adult, you could say. And he always had these rules. But one of the rules was “Never apologize”. To him, that was showing weakness. Apologizing was a weakness. He eventually grows in character but that’s just what it reminds me of. It isn’t a good way of thinking but it doesn’t mean the people who think it are evil.  As I was saying, Kagami had far more character than Luka. I could tell that her original purpose wasn’t just to be someone else Adrien was interested in unlike with Luka and Marinette. Then... then Frozer... It quite literally shattered my heart seeing Kagami just be another girl crushing on Adrien but I at least thought she respected him enough compared to two of the other girls that liked him, to not treat him as a possession but as a partner, a equal. Her character wasn’t completely gone at least, because she had enough character to begin with that it would be entirely obvious if any of it went missing. Like, again, how she suddenly loved Adrien. I kind of liked how she gave Marinette some tough advice not to hesitate. I know that seemed to upset other people but obviously Alya’s loving way of handling it as a close friend, wasn’t getting to her so Kagami did it her way. Unfortnately, that didn’t work either, but it was a nice effort.  All in all, she was more dull but still... nice. It wasn’t like with Luka where my love just kind of died there. I still had hope. Maybe she would be interested in Adrien for a while and realize that he’s better as a friend or just not worth the emotional effort because she kept failing. That was a big part of her character after all, not wanting to fail. Next episode, Animatestro, she treated Adrien like an object for a second just to screw with Chloe and Marinette. I wasn’t happy. They were trying to make me hate Kagami and Adrien together, they were trying to show me “see? Kagami isn’t right for him at all” but all it showed me was they would do anything to prove Marinette was number 1 for Adrien even if it meant ruining a good character and that hurt me. She wasn’t observant like she was in previous episodes. She was completely distracted by Adrien like Adrien was her whole world which could have been cute had it fit her character. My father loves my mother with all his heart but he is always observing his surroundings even with her (though lately, as he’s grown older I think there’s been less focus). He’s always making sure some part of him is paying attention in case there’s any danger and he tried to teach me to do the same. I just don’t have his same ability to focus on so many things.  Kagami was like that. Frozer it was apparent she could focus on her amazing iceskating skills while getting the ice instructor to back off and while being able to recognize Adrien had strong feelings for Marinette, while also giving him attention. She did that all at once.  Animastro all her focus was stuck on Adrien which was not only unlike her but absolutely annoying. We get it, she likes Adrien. Not mention it was subtly hinted at this episode that her mother may have a slight bit of Gabe with her and that made me upset.  Now, I haven’t watched Ryuko’s debute in full but I know Kagami’s mother was shown to be slightly toxic and that kind of ruined me. Also, Kagami seemed mellowed down but I liked that she made friends with Marinette. I thought that would be a good idea. Plus, I kind of ship them, so that helps. XD Oni-chan she had next to no character other than “I love Adrien” though it was pretty cool that her akuma could pick up on Lila’s lies and even added a thing to help others notice though it failed to help.  It’s disheartening seeing this. It hurts watching her character just disappear for the sake of “plot”. Kagami is a character who means a lot to me because finally there was someone semi-like my dad represented in media. I had never seen it before. And then, they kind of gave up on this lovely complex character. That hurt. I love Kagami but I love her mostly in her debute. Each time she showed up after something of her character was taken away (though I have a feeling I would like Ryuko’s debute based on what people have told me about how she acted). I don’t think they can fix what they damaged but here’s hoping... she doesn’t lose any more. send me a 👀 + an ml character and I’ll say my honest opinion about that character

I rewatched mayura and when mayura makes that butterfly monster ladybug tells Chat “the second miraculous master fu lost-“ and Chat completes “-The peackock miraculous” And.....HE KNOWS THAT THERE IS, IN FACT A PEACKOCK MIRACULOUS. 𝗔𝗡𝗗 𝗛𝗘 𝗛𝗔𝗦 𝘀𝗘𝗲𝗡 𝗶𝗧. OR AT LEAST HE SAW A WEIRD ARTIFACT THAT LOOKED LIKE PEACOCK FEATHERS NEXT TO A BOOK WITH, YOU GUESSED IT, MIRACULOUS HEROES IN HIS FATHER’S SAFE. (1/2)
