No one else around them was carrying a massive sword. So, if the mean people with knives saw him hanging around a kid with a massive sword, maybe they’d back the heck off.
“Thank you! You don’t even have to, uh, talk or anything, like, I’ll handle the, um, finer nuances of conversation and stuff, like, don’t even trip, man, it’s all good.
