"uh.. hey." rose did not really know what she was supposed to say to mouse, not after everything that had happened the last time they spoke. they still weren't entirely sure they believed mouse about their memories, about any of it. but at the same time, she didn't have a reason t keep denying it. even if she wasn't ready to admit to that. "you uh.. you look nice. where's your date?'

"just act natural," rose whispered into mouse's ear, keeping their arms linked as they moved into the crowd. "you look beautiful, so stop worrying about it. it'll be fun, once we blend in." they weren't worried about being caught once they were actually inside, but they couldn't deny their heart was pounding trying to make it past the guards.
"shit." rose huffed as she felt their shoulder collide with another, as subsequently feeling a drink on their arm. they had to return the dress by the end of the weekend, what were they supposed to do if it actually got stained. "how much did it spill?"

"this is just getting hard to watch." rose grimaced, watching as the jester dropped the ball for the third time. they couldn't actually be serious, right? this had to be part of the act? "how long are we going to stand here and watch this monstrosity?"
"i don't think i'll ever get used to seeing the dragons this close." it seemed like they were only getting closer as the days went on, though they were sure that couldn't be a good thing.. "i know they've always been there they're just.. they seem so unbelievable."
