(old art of Une!) So I've been thinking about knoxonk morphology and how they classify as like... A 'hell cat' and I've come to the conclusion that it's a broad term that encompasses the Feliformia as a whole both in real life, folklore and media! For instance, Rethzalan(Bor's fog leader) could be classified as a Panthera pardus(melanistic leopard) hellcat with a Dirlagraun(displacer beast) body plan. Dossi, however out of her tressym host, is a Panthera uncia gynosphinx(snow leopard she-sphinx) hell cat with beneko+rakshasa body plan(or visa versa) Une and Barbor have the undifined/chimera body plan, for Une it's the manticore body plan with chimera characteristics. kinda confusing sure, but I think if he was solely manticore he'd have a human face more readily than pangolin/bat like being with unsightly amounts of teeth. Bor's undefined and theoretically classified as a chimera. Nothing in them really screams 'cat', they're a goat/roach/leech creech with risen qualities but they're technically still under the hellish Feliformia morphology. Kinda like hyenas and bear cats are related to felines- (honestly I can see it on bor tbh) Onna isn't readily noticeable at first glance, she could be classified as any other griffon in Jabberwocky's forest (since they can be that colorful and huge). But her biggest give away is her not having a shadow and a bunch of smaller one eyed birds following her There is no hierarchy of which body plan a certain knox has, all it does is help them hone in on which preferred prey they hunt. or which type of fog seeks them out~

Change log to Bor-lore!!~

-Bor's now afro-italian! I've been mulling this over for a VERY long while(like since bor's first blog), but I finally decided thanks to my moots!~ I don't think I'll change their alternates tho cuz I subscribe to the whole 'different universe, different look, same you' type of deal. Like in Cloud Nine where all the past and future lives are different people, but still very much them!~ You can tell it's still them because: - Skrap(gnaws on hair on the right), - Beep(Torn right ear & missing right eye,(I know I haven't mentioned them but they count), - Bos'a(Aether affected right eye), - and og Barbor(damaged right antennae) has damage like how Nat lost their right eye! Still them!~

-I might merge bor's borror form and full knoxonk form together, bc I like to think the borror form is the bridge to their full knoxonk self!~

-I think I might change Dossi into a full knoxonk, I've mentioned in discord that she was a wizard in the past life, but I never mentioned if her soul was halved to make this version of her. And I don't think she's the type to NOT go all or nothing, so that makes two knoxes that went full so far. (the first being Onna'ril!)

Knoxonk tidbit!!

If a knoxonk trusts you enough you can ask to borrow one of their floating eyes as a scrying object.~ it has its uses from seeing things from their perspective to projecting a semi-corporeal form near the knoxonk or near another floating eye. Normally the eye can be adorned in jewelry like rings, tiaras, crowns, necklaces, and earrings. But another option, and usually more concealing( in Barborous' case), is to replace one's eye with theirs. There's no need to remove an eye for this process, though it'll feel a slight discomforting pressure on the chosen eye socket.

Thankfully, this won't have any ill effects on the user or won't count as possession. But keep advised that unsavory knoxonks like Rethalan may use this against the holder if crossed. An eye held or owned makes it easy for the knoxonk to hard stare and brand said user.

been a while since I’ve done a canon here!~ I’ve been dabbling on the idea that the Fae Bor’s mimicking are mimics themselves!  probably why Bor was able to pick up their habits so easily too~ So here’s why I say this, these fae are a brand(or sub race) of changeling that work a lot like mimic spiders and they have some qualities like these arachnids too! They make webs/silks, have chelicerae, got blue blood, put their eggs in silk pouches they carry around, have multiple eyes(usually hidden).  The only difference is that they don’t always have eight limbs, usually at max, is six. Can look like any combination of ambush/mimic arthropod and mammal, their target of choice to mimic always depends on where they’re located or where their territory is. It takes a while to shift in and out of forms and it takes a bunch of practice! And they don’t make their webs/silks from their rumps but from their tails and/or hands instead(though not all have them). The ‘fur’ and ‘hair’ are hollow with tubes, these tubes act like the spinnerets for these guys to produce the goop to make the fibers. But a crucial step is to transfer this slick substance is to their hands, from there they rub their hands together to bind the material to make the webs and silks. All they have to do is pinch their fingers together to make silk, or pass their hands flat to make web! Because of this, the folk in the canopy in J.W.’s forest and in the upper parts of the trees always think these ‘pests’ are scheming something with how much they rub their hands. Or that their hands are all gross and sticky. But no! it’s actually pretty smooth and supple, free of scars or scratches, the material helps mend up minor wounds! Bor’s seen doing these actions too, but some of the time they skip the tail rub part and goes straight to rubbing their hands and making the threads. The group of fae they first joined up with was pretty spooked about how Bor’s webs are literally sinew and flesh, but after some adjusting to this life and help from another necromancer, they all found it pretty useful to have them mend and heal the colossal beast they were living on.~

I haven’t made a headcanon here in a while so here this! okay it’s not really headcanon but like an update on birbor- I never really understood what birbor had to bring to the table other than ‘Bor 86 on the insect factor’ because bor’s technically a bird in their bug boss form. So I was thinking making that fella a whole knoxling on their own, named Onna’ril! they got a air/oneiric(dreams n nightmares!)/sand elements!~ I gotta work more on them, but I already made a playlist for them with some themes I got a hold of and plus some tidbits!

-They journey vibes, so they got a cloak n stuff! -they’re a new air knoxonk(a term which I gotta get into!), -they work as a messenger of sorts (or a delivery lad like Hermes and the like) -Onna’ril don’t poof around like Bor does, they make portals that open up to the dream world they can walk into and walk back out!~ Looks like a door, but can’t be entered by people who they don’t rlly trust much! -their element(mostly oneiric) is expressed with a chance of their face being either blank or shifting! Those who’s more experienced on lucid dreaming can see onna’s face properly, those who don’t or don’t dream at all their face may have a face blind moment with them! -Keeping that potoo/roc gryph still there! though their cat half is og species, Nerifen-leur(basically like a dire Cheshire cat)! -always seen with their eyes ‘closed’, much like uwu, but when they open their eyes it’s.. pretty jarring as potoos goes-

all the common places peeps go to pray/give offerings for the fog:

Bor: rest stops, run-down places, usually liminal, a place that's either quiet for people on the road to settle in for the night. Somehow they'll know if a Dr. money-like person stopped by and tends to get hexed or cursed. The impoverished or the needy tend to get something in the next few days to keep them going Dossi: libraries, old wizard homes, castles/home of royalty- rashaskas from dnd are big time spell casters and dossi being part of them is no different~ big for people seeking knowledge into things, mostly the forbidden stuff. She loves scrolls and books, and will offer something equal to how rare an offering u give her Reth: catacombs, places where a great many deaths happened. if a big fire event, mainly so! places of wartime/warmongers who've gone a little mad- if said people don't give their offerings to a specific war/death god, she may nibble from it [also ironically enough, praying for protection is also commonplace and usually it's answered, if it's direly needed(if you're not Dr. money) tends to be answered quickly] Onna: It's the temple of serenity, calmness, and rejuvenation. The same one Nethos lies dormant at. Just like Miromax's cafe spot(a guardian in JW's forest), no one's allowed to commit violence(self-defense is fine), though showing anger and the like is permitted. if one need to have excess emotion gone, any visit to knoxonk and onna will help with that! donors of empathy are temporarily protected from outside possession Une: factories, armories, blacksmith shops, and other industrial places. workers tend to leave useless scraps of metal or personal crafts they made- anything made in or near these shrines tends to be made finely, and repairs are done well enough that they look good as new~

mini possible canon? I think bor's tailmouth in their main form transcends to their other forms too(sans the roachie vessel)~ And just like the main form, it isn't a true-true tail mouth besides the proboscis and teeth. It's more like a vector for grabbing, sipping extra blood/liquid while busy with other tasks, and envenomating. Though it only becomes a true tailmouth if they're a full knoxonk/in their borror form!~
