On 18th November 1982 the South Ford causeway between Benbecula and South Uist is opened in a ceremony held in a severe gale.

During a ceremony held in a howling gale in the middle of the road link , National Mod gold-medallist Mairi Macinnes, who was only 18, sang two Gaelic songs at the conclusion of the event after cutting the ceremonial ribbon with a skean dhu. Alexander Matheson, the then convener of the Western Isles Islands Council (now Comhairle nan Eilean Siar), told the crowd of councillors, officials, contractors, guest and local people that far too often in the past ceremonies such as this had been handled by people from outwith the area. He could think of no one better than Mairi Macinnes to carry out the ceremony.

Mr Matheson made clear at the official opening that the causeway was only part of a long programme planned for the transportation system of the Western Isles.

The plaque marking the opening reads:Chaidh an cabhsair seo fhosgladh air 18 Samhainn 1982 le Mairi NicAonghais a Baghastal a bhuannaich am Bonn Or aig Mod Eilean a Cheo 1982.

psssttt.... aqua/kairi/vanitas/roxas reacting to coming home and finding their s/o sleeping in their (aqua/kairi/vanitas/roxas')clothing?

IM A SUCKER FOR BF/GF CLOTHES PRIVILEGES - Also I went with a m o d e r n AU here cause. Y’know. They all just kinda have o n e outfit in game -

Aqua :

Aqua liked to check on you as soon as she got home, the sight of you always managed to cheer her up after a long day ! (world big and scary.... but S/O warm and soft ...) Well, first she’d drop all of her things and get some comfy clothes, in case you decided to pull her in for an impromptu cuddle session. However, she’d notice that one of her b i g cozy sweaters was missing - it’s not hard to figure out you were the thief.

Once she sees you wearing the sweater, she’d just laugh and gently poke your cheeks to see if you wake up. Then pepper your face with kisses. And t h e n, blow raspberries on your neck and if you’re not awake by then she’s just gonna lay on top of you till you do. Don’t even try to push her off, this woman is all b e e f. Aqua would cheekily question you like “so what might you be wearing?”, raising an eyebrow at you and giving you that knowing smile. You can easily tell she’s loving every second of this.

But Aqua isn’t as r u t h l e s s as Vanitas when it comes to teasing, so she’d simply tell you that you can borrow her clothes whenever you want cause they look great on you ! To be h o n e s t she’s super embarrassed and flustered but she tries her best to play it c o o l so YOU don’t get even more embarassed. - but as soon as you don’t see her, Aqua will just hop around her room, blushing.

Kairi :

Kairi would rush from class to home, probably dashing to your room to show you a funny meme Sora sent her today. But as soon as she notices that you’re asleep, she’d quietly tip toe to the bed and smile brightly at you. Wait. W a a a i t a second. Was that her shirt ? Once Kairi confirmed that you were i n d e e d wearing her shirt, she’d giggle and squeal in delight. Could you get any cuter ?

Okay but she’s actually surprised her clothes fit you (or anyone else other than Naminé and Xion), since she’s pretty small. Kairi is known for stealing your own clothes from time to time, loving the way they fit her and the scent they gave. It smelled like home. It smelled like you. She’d kneel down next to you and wonder if you thought the same thing when you decided to pick her shirt. Would you also refuse to return it like she does with your clothes ? Wait, hold on, that’s one of her favorites. Yeah, you b e t t e r return that one !

Kairi would probably lay next to you, probably thinking about outfits for you two so that you can match. And maybe a list of all the clothes she should also return, whoopsies. In the end, she’d fall asleep curled up to you to m o o c h off that warmth and you’ll wake up to see her snoring peacefully while holding your hand.

Vanitas :

You always know when Vanitas is home cause he just n e e d s to make his presence known - by making as much noise as he can. So when you dont rush to greet/scold him, he’d know something was up. A mischevious grin would appear on his face as he quietly made his way towards your room - hoping to catch you doing something he’s not meant to see and calling out your name in a s i c k e n i n g l y sweet voice. Which usually means that he’s wants something or is trying to pull a prank on you.

Vanitas would totally regret kicking the door open as soon as he sees you sleeping peacefully, wearing the c r u s t y hoodie he usually wears when he doesn’t feel like dressing up like a decent human being. He’d be lying if he said he hasn’t dreamed about seeing you in his clothes. In fact, Vanitas often joked about this - suggesting that you can just take anything from his closet anytime, but he never thought you’d actually do it ! He’d be a mix of flustered, surprised and proud.

Once he’s over the initial shock, you B E T Vanitas would take a shit lot of sneaky selfies with you and just post them all over social media so you have a surprise to wake up to. After that, he’d let you rest for half an hour or so before deciding to just j u m p on the bed you’re sleeping on to wake you up.

Roxas :

Roxas returned home simply because he forgot his jacket. After calling out to you and receiving no answer, he’d assume that you were taking a nap so he’d try to be as quiet as possible. The mission was simple : find it and leave again without waking you up. However, his jacket was n o w h e r e to be seen - it wasn’t hung up with the rest of coats, it wasn’t in his room, nor under his bed. In the end, he’d decide to ask you and get your help, gently knocking on your door.

“Hey, Y/N, have you seen my uhhhhhhh-” he’d just continue uhhhhhhh-ing by the door while his brain tries to process what he’s seeing right now. Roxas would be so conflicted. On one side, he needs that jacket. On the other, you look so cute wearing it. He’d slowly close the door and stay outside your room for a f e w minutes, trying to think what to do - maybe he can s n a t c h the jacket sneakily ! No, too risky. Maybe waking you up ? No, what if you get so embarrassed you start to hate him ?

After a while, Roxas would simply pick another jacket (or maybe one of yours, y’know, an eye for an eye) and let you sleep, covering you with the blankets before leaving once again. Okay I lied, maybe he took one or two pictures, but unlike Vanitas, he’d keep them for himself. He’d be pretty content for the rest of the day though and will make sure to ask you to wear his clothes more often when he comes back.
