“Is it too early to become obsessed with pumpkin flavored things and plan out several Halloween costumes, because I’m getting excited about the spooky season.” She nodded as she tucked her hair behind her ear. “And I really don’t want to contain my excitement.”
“Hey, um...I-I need to do something.” Robbie knew what she was doing was reckless and careless. She knew she was being stupid. But she didn’t care, not right now. She just wanted to know, what is would be like. She she met their eyes with a careful consideration. Bad idea, very bad idea, the voice in the back over head warned her. But she closed the space between them and pressed her lips lightly against there’s. What a lovely bad idea this was.
Robbie wasn’t in the best mood, but she didn’t want to be a downer. She also didn’t really want to be alone. “I um...would you maybe...if your not busy would you maybe wanna hang out with me for a little? We could go get a drink, or food or something? I just...I’d like a bit of company.”
“Now I could be a total nerd and give you the complete history of batgirl.” Robbie smirked a little as she spoke. “And I can gush about the genius that is Babs Tarr, but I know it’s a total niche passion. So I’ll spare you.” She laughed lightly. “But if you want the cliff notes I’m always happy to discuss.”
Robbie was carving her fourth pumpkin. She had always been really good at this and she was having a lot of fun helping out some of the people around her. She giggled a little as she scooped out the insides and places them into a metal bowl in front of her. “Here if you are so grossed out by this then you can carve this one once I finish cleaning it out. You know, because I’m just that nice.”
“You know as much as I love comic book movies, I wish the indie comics got the same about of love. Like I’m waiting for a paper girls of a fables tv show. Maybe even The Wicked + The Divine. Like there is awesome material out there that has seriously fallen under the radar. Yet we still keep rehashing Batman and lately not so well.” She nodded as she spoke. “Sorry am I boring you?”
“So this magazine contacted me saying they wanted to do a photoshoot with me. Something like comic book hotties or that crap. And like I’m kind of conflicted. Firstly because like I’m cute but hot still kinda makes me cringe. Also, exposure would be nice but...I want people to want to know me because of my work...not my body.” She explained a little nervous. “Also what if they are scamming me? And what if I don’t feel comfortable, or I look awkward...and now the robbie-train is full steam ahead isn’t she?”
“It’s so fucking stupid...I know that.” She nodded blinking back tears as she looked down. “My job is amazing, I have amazing friends! I’m so beyond lucky to be able to live here and support myself. That should be enough! It’s just...this keeps happening. I like someone, I fall for them, and then the do away. Like...that has to be me right? Whats wrong with me?”
