«Thor: The Dark World» is a superhero action movie about Thor, who fights against the dark elf Malekith, who wants to return the universe to darkness. Thor (Chris Hemsworth) gets help from his brother Loki (Tom Hiddleston), friend Jane Foster (Natalie Portman) and the warriors of Asgard. Pros: Impressive visual effects, Dynamic battle scenes, Charismatic Loki, Light humor. Cons: Simple, predictable plot, Malekith antagonist not threatening enough, Little connection to other Marvel films. Overall it's just an entertaining movie with good visuals and action scenes but a simple plot.
My rating:
⭐⭐⭐
I'm watching Saving Private Ryan (1998). Two hours and forty nine minutes long. Not only does Robert Rodat write garbage, he packs a lot in!
Things I'm watching out for:
Civilians as props.
Americans being murderous and callous
Fucked-up morality/ideas of justice
Double-standards
I will NOT be playing a drinking game. No, I want to live!
GRYFFINDOR: “A shepherd must tend to his flock and, at times, fight off the wolves.” –Robert Rodat (Reverend Oliver: The Patriot)
She’d stand in the doorway looking at me and I’d just keep my eyes shut. And I knew she just wanted to find out about my day, that she came home early just to talk to me. And I still wouldn’t move. I’d still pretend to just be asleep. I don’t know why I did that.
