Reposted from @helpingourchildren On September 30th 1972, Roberto Clemente would record his 3000th and final career hit of his career. The hit would place him in the exclusive 3000 Hit Club, and would solidify his spot in the National Baseball Hall of Fame. Roberto would also become the 1st Latino to record 3000 career hits. The celebration was short lived, as 3 short months later, Roberto would lose his life while delivering aide to earthquake victims in Nicaragua. Roberto epitomized hard work, dedication, and benevolence. Major League Baseball honored him last month and reminded the world of his contributions on and off the field. Take some time to share his story with your children, he’s embodies everything positive and productive. #robertoclemente #robertoclemente21 #21 #momen #majorleaguebaseball #mlb #halloffame #nationalbaseballhalloffame #3000hits #3000 #clemente #puertorico #puertoricoearthquakes #sospuertorico #sharehistory #pittsburgh #pittsburghpirates #robertoclementemuseum #helpingourchildren @puertoricanflagsup #PrFlagsUp #puertoricanflagsup https://www.instagram.com/p/CFxU20wp4oO/?igshid=1g2huspg74e7i
