Bob is crying because Thunderbolts didn't take him on the mission
for anyone wanting a bob fic on wattpad, im currently writing one!!
it’s called red room by maneatxr
Another Thunderbolts* Animatic! Gonna crash out because TikTok muted it for copyright, and I had to speed it up there to avoid it :( Weeks of work for it to be 1.8x speed >:(
This is the video not sped up, thank you YouTube I guess.
Lewis Pullman’s Bob From The Thunderbolts* Is A Mental Health Awareness Month Reminder
This is Bob.
Bob used to be just a guy…until he was given the super serum that gave him the “power of a million exploding suns” and turned him into the Sentry.
But with that power came the Void—the dark side of Bob’s mind. Think of it as a physical manifestation of Bob’s trauma, fear, addiction, and depression all rolled into one. And then give that being powers too.
Bob’s worst enemy is himself.
In Thunderbolts*, Bob’s story shines a light on what it really means to live with mental illness. Gaining super powers did not instantly remove his struggles with mental health.
Behind the glowing eyes and superhuman strength is someone trying to survive depression, addiction, and a constant fear of losing control. His struggle isn’t glamorous. It’s messy, painful, and deeply human.
Bob is not alone.
SH: Each member of the Thunderbolts* has a past they’re not proud of and a voice in their head they try to ignore. The film doesn’t shy away from that. It puts them in “shame rooms” where they’re forced to confront their worst memories, regrets, and fears.
But they’re not in those rooms alone. They face them together, and that’s the point.
Bob is an important reminder.
Bob shows us that pain doesn’t always look like weakness. Sometimes, it looks like holding it together. Sometimes, it looks like being the strongest one in the room while silently falling apart.
His story reminds us why empathy matters. You never really know what someone’s carrying. Behind the powers, the jokes, the “I’m fine”, there’s often a fight no one sees.
Bob is dealing with it one day at a time.
There’s no quick fix for what he’s going through. Just like in real life, healing for Bob isn’t a straight line. It’s messy, slow, and often lonely.
But he keeps showing up. Even when he’s scared of himself. Even when the Void is louder than reason. Because in the end, you don’t have to have it all together to keep going.
Bob’s (and the Thunderbolts*) journey reminds us to face our own struggles with honesty and to show up for others who are fighting battles we may not fully understand.

WARNING, ⚠ SPOILERS ⚠ 🌞+🌙

◽ They both had a major traumatic event when they were minors (and no, it wasn't the "loss of a family member" kind of thing). ◽ For both, being heroes is almost the main reason to keep living, keep fighting, and keep resisting. ◽ They both were (or still are) fictional characters and/or public figures within the Marvel universe itself. ◽ They had to endure the SAME villain almost in the same season (2009-2010), trying to manipulate them and make them explode: Norman Osborn. However, it was not in parallel. But of all the enemies they could have had, it was him (he was bored of bothering Spiderman apparently). ◽ Both the Sentry and Moon Knight had problems with alcoholism and some other type of addiction. ◽ If Sentry had a hero soundtrack, I think it would sound like this:
The image of the post is a parallelism found in the covers of the comics Marc Spector: Moon Knight #8 (1989) and Punisher #1 (2009)

I will make a group of posts with reasons (and headcanons) why this couple would work. And, added to this, I'm also making fanarts of this fanon ship (in my artist Tumblr TakiArte, inside the Marvel Eclipse tag).
🚫 If you don't like this idea, please just leave 🚫
This will be a personal record. AND OBVIOUSLY, it will have ⚠ SPOILERS ⚠
Because to put heroes fighting each other, Marvel already has plenty. We're here to make them love each other.
And seriously, I'm surprised Marvel hasn't made these two characters cross-over more times, as they have such a unique trait in common.

◽ Complementary. One represents the moon, the other represents the sun. ◽ They live with a disturbed state of mind and/or multiple identities. Implicit understanding between them. ◽ They went to the same therapist at one time. ◽ They both had one (or several) bad experiences with corrupt or unethical therapists. They suffered GASLIGHTING where people tried to make them doubt their own memory and experiences to manipulate them. ◽ Both went through being classified as dangerous to society. ◽ They seem to know each other much more than Marvel tells us, proven by the comic Hulk Vol 2 #9 (2008).

Luna = Moon Knight. I like to say him Luna (in Spanish), what's equivalent to saying only "Moon" Sorry for the English mistakes! Not my mother language

HEADCANONS part 5 About PHYSICAL APPEARANCE (part 1)

WARNING, ⚠ SPOILERS ⚠ 🌞+🌙

About Luna / Moon Knight:
🌙 My preferred look for him is a mix of the style of Greg Smallwood (that you can see in Moon Knight vol 8 (2016)) and the colors he possessed in some vintage comics (differing from the hair color he has in this year's comics (2022)). 🌙 In my canon, Marc is pale (I will elaborate on this later) and he has red hair, but unnatural red, not being an actual redhead (which is usually an orange tone, as Matt Murdock/Daredevil has). This "red" color I suppose is actually the product of the attempt to achieve a certain brown tone by printers or colorists before 2000. I will also make his eyebrows that color, but not his body hair, which is dark.
(Cut from the cover of Marc Spector: Moon Knight #18, art by Sal Velluto, Tom Palmer and Christie Scheele) 🌙 The suit I prefer and draw the most is the one seen in volume 7; this one:
🌙 I follow characteristics like: a scar on the eye that cuts his left eyebrow, his half-grown beard (sometimes shaved) and the way he combs his hair, ALTHOUGH you will also see in some art the hair as it is in the current volume (volume 9) with the beautiful art of Alessandro Cappuccio; and references to the color by Rachelle Rosenberg, especially that light blue glow that makes Luna look supernatural.
(Art by Cory Smith and Rachelle Rosenberg)
🌙 From volume 9 I also take as canon Luna having some half-healed wound, scars and bandages. I love how cute he looks with the bandage on his nose in volume 8, art by Smallwood:
If you want a drastic example of all this, you have the beginning of Moon Knight Vol 5 (2006), where the eyebrow cut originates from (a volumen I despise, where Luna has a hard time):
(Art by David Finch)
🌙 Voice Headcanon (how I imagine his voice sounds). Inspired by the voice acting he has in two different mediums, an animated series and a game: https://youtu.be/EC_Xt_agj14
🌙 My Moon Knight will always be this tall: 188 cm / 6’ 2’’ Canon according to the Handbook of the Marvel Universe vol 2 (1985). My Moon Knight is taller than Sentry. (More physical appearance headcanons coming soon) –
About Sentry:
🌞 My Sentry will always have long hair, no exception. Sometimes above the shoulders, sometimes below shoulders. But always long hair. 🌞 He's blonde. No dark eyebrows. Blonde eyebrows, blonde eyelashes, blonde body hair. 🌞 I have a distinction: the civilian appearance and the hero appearance. Bob Reynolds (Robert) and Sentry are different “phases” of the same person. Therefore, there is a change in physical appearance, just as it happened with Captain America when he received the super-soldier serum. If you know the history of Sentry, you will understand that this logic makes sense. But this is exclusively personal, not canon according to the comics (although it has always been a confusing topic and some authors made a certain difference). Sentry: canon superhero body. No need to describe it, you see it all the time in comics. One difference from Moon Knight is that Sentry is more muscular (although not taller -see below-). Bob: body in a more realistic canon, following the base of the one he has in volume 1. Therefore, it has a chubby belly, it's less muscular and with less “waist” (that in Sentry is highlighted by wearing the belt). It's a type of body that I am not used to drawing so it will be a challenge for me.
(Art by Jae Lee)
🌞 Despite the change of phases, I will keep the style of his face fixed, with prominent cheekbones. I won't make his face round when he's Bob even though his body type will change.
(Art by Mike Deodato) 🌞 My Sentry has the following heights: Bob Reynolds: 170 cm (speculated) Sentry: 183 cm / 6’ I have proof of this height for Sentry being canon even if the artists forgot (in the All-New Official Handbook of the Marvel Universe (2006)). Bob's height follows my phase change rule (notable in Sentry volume 2). He's always shorter than Moon Knight.

—————————— ☀+🌙
