So my younger cousins were watching the Disney film Bolt and, being severely sleep deprived, I came to the realisation that Rhino the Hamster and Tim Drake have the exact same origin. Thank you for coming to my TED talk.

okay look will and robin bonding was cute !! it was lovely to see the two queer characters connecting. however. because of this. this season robin has lost the ability to have her own plotline and is now an accessory to helping will realize his identity. and that fucking sucks. she doesn’t get to go to the upside down with the other older kids, all her important moments center around will— giving him a speech abt tammy thompson, even just being with vickie ends up being about will. it’s incredibly frustrating. will and robin have a powerful and important friendship, but it’s really disheartening to see the other canon gay character have to center herself around the male canon gay character
restarted mismag while i was packing for xmas at my mum’s and can’t stop looking at this pic of robin

✅ : what do they pretend to have together that they don't?
I think Robin has to do a lot of faking it until he makes it. There's no doubt that he's actually not fine at all. He suffers from PTSD from being in the holylands. Severe enough that they sent both him and much home. I think he tries very hard to prove that he's fine and that he's still the same Robin somewhat from when he left but really he did come home very changed and I don't think the merry men other than Much really knows that. Will and Marian though I do think have noticed a difference but Will doesn't call him up on it and I don't recall if Marian ever does but I think she would probably call him out on it.
🫥 : how often do they pretend to be fine to keep the peace?
I think petty things happen really often at camp. And Robin despite it all I do think is a little petty but since he's the leader and has to lead by example I do think he lets things slide to keep the peace just so Allan will maybe cop on and do the same thing (spoilers: he never does)
🔥 : what moment do they replay when they're ashamed?
Not getting to King Richard fast enough. I think he'll always carry that guilt with him no matter what and I think it weighs very heavily on him.
🚬 : what vice do they justify the most?
I think for every merry man he allows some kind of indulgence. Living in the forest is hard and within reason they can all have a little vice as a treat. I think maybe Djaq maybe whips them up a little something to take the edge off. Maybe something to smoke or just some kind of tonic to get them all a little intoxicated when alcohol is hard to come by.
💞 : do they separate sex and feelings, or blur them dangerously?
I think unless it's Will or Marian Robin is able to separate sex and his feelings. With those two especially, I think the lines got very blurred and messy for him. I think due to their history with him he's just not able to separate his feelings from the physical act.
🔪 : what would they do if survival demanded cruelty?
Robin's a very practical man and when push comes to shove if he has to kill someone he will. He didn't get though the holylands by being best friends with everyone. Robin though I think does try to keep casualties to minimum I think there's a lot of trauma around killing people and that's why he tries to solve things without killing people. But really if it was the only way I don't think he'd feel bad about doing what has to be done.

Robin Thicke mention 😔
the body remembers: chapter two
The trunk is empty, suitcases already trekked into her dormitory, and there's nothing else he really needs to be here for - which is why they're stalling. He flops down next to her, follows her line of sight to the redbrick buildings framed by trees, and kind of resents this place for being so beautiful.
"What if I can't do it?"
"Then come home," he says easily. "There's a spare bedroom with your name on it, always."
exactly one month late for @stobinmonth day 28: bad news, but we made it eventually. read on ao3 here <3
also frobin genuinely works because oda DOESN'T want to make franky an annoying sanji 2 i think. sanji is always slobbering over girl after girl and is genuinely fucking repulsive, because oda is a weirdo who thinks boys as young as 8 (quoted) do nothing but think about boobs and ass all day. oda writes men like theyre disgusting sexual harassment connosieurs that do nothing but try to see tits, down to vivi's OWN DAD TRYING TO WATCH HER CHANGE.
while franky is also a victim of the oda male writing beam i think he works better as a character because hes not slobbering over tits 24 7. he may be a bona fide horndog but hes not like Annoying to other people about it, he's just a freak.
if he was like "OMG ROBIN LET ME SEE THOSE TITSSSS" the dynamic would not work. hence why i hate every single sanji dynamic, because hes either too busy being fucking weird about women or being annoying. idk. i like the parallels between them as characters. they both lost everything they worked their entire lives for and were called freaks for their unusual bodies, yet franky managed to make friends and become a mob boss while robin turned to crime to survive. one knows the love and trust of a family while the other struggles to understand..its so perfect. its so good. if anything oda refusing to make any romance between the SHPs makes it better, hunger makes the special sauce... the tension in the subtext......
