“Alright Jason, if you’re going to be a Titan and stay with us then you’re going to stop the drinking. No alcohol in the building or in the general vicinity.”
@robinbait s2 blessed us with baby
“ still think of this as a demotion? “ dick didn’t see so much as felt jason enter the training room. it was still early enough that it couldn’t be rachel, and gar had heavier footsteps so clever detective work and a fine amount of bat-years could deduce jason todd was at the threshold of the gym. good. it was always boring to train alone. “ what’s your weapon of choice? “ dick finished wiping off his escrima stick and turned, pointing one at robin in a taunting invitation. things were good. hell, dick might even go as far as to say things were great. and while things hadn’t started off on the best of terms, he felt things were mending as painlessly as they could. now came the fun stuff. training. they were titans now. they’d have to be initiated rightly. " think you can keep up? “

the alley is cold. slade’s used to being warm no matter what he wears, no matter what the weather, but now he feels the chill seeping into his bones. a hand wipes the blood from his beard, and it smears it pink. slade is starting to wonder when he’ll be able to crawl - get to somewhere where he can can call billy to come and pick him up. the healing is starting, but it’s slow, strenuous. he can feel the toll it’s taking on him.
it’s with surprise that he hears the motorcycle whirring, getting louder and louder as it comes close to him. someone looking to take advantage, perhaps? slade still has a gun. he’s not helpless. whoever it is is going to regret it.
he cocks his gun, aiming it at the boy who gets off the motorcycle. ‘get outta here, kid, before i do something you’re gonna regret.’

His boy! Ace couldn’t lie, Jason was one of his favorite people. His loyalty would always lie with the master but he favored following around Jason more. The shepherd came galloping up to his boy and took two seconds to sniff and excitedly bounce around him before snapping teeth down on his cape and pulling as hard as thick neck muscles would allow.

Now THAT’S a question he gets asked a lot. Honestly, Peter’s surprised he’s still alive too, considering how much he either messes up or mouths off in front of villains when he probably shouldn’t risk it like that. It’s pretty much his branding at this point, though! “Sorry-- sorry! I won’t-- I won’t mess it up, I just-- uh, when I get started TALKING it usually doesn’t stop for a while, see like now I’m doing it again-- I’ll shut up-.....so what’s the plan?” Well shutting up lasted all of three seconds.

Bruce took a deep breath. He knew things could never be as they had been. He knew that he could never be forgiven--would never be forgiven. It was far too late for that, and he knew he would forever be haunted by those he could not save whether they were buried six feet under, or alive in the flesh as Jason was now.
And yet, he felt almost at peace when Jason only confirmed what Bruce suspected he thought of him and his moral code; his fear of dealing the final blow and letting it all end in blood. Nothing could ever change what happened, and he knew deep down that he could never change--not in the way Jason wanted him tom.
He let out a deep sigh, hardly moved by his words. One might have thought that Jason was truly dead, and that Bruce had grown so used to this apparition haunting his waking moments that he had become almost immune to his harsh retorts.
Bruce’s expression softened and he closed his eyes as he let Jason’s words sink in. “I know,” he replied quietly. He sighed He knew that wasn’t the answer Jason wanted--it wasn’t the answer anyone in Jason’s position would have wanted, but in that moment that was all he could say.
