Robo-Dog!
Paw Patrol Face Head Swap
How can Robo-dog head swapped with life-dog Zuma?
note: I know this is from someone youtube channel’s videos. But I re-edited from my own screencaps for good quality ^o^
Astro, the robot dog is designed to learn and act from trial and errors and its experiences and could guide the blind or attend to dangerous situations.
Inktober day 15, Space Travelers - the Lost Boy and Dog. Hopefully he's not lost for too long. The robo-dog companion was originally more robotic, but then as I thought about it, if we made something that dog shaped as a helper and companion, we'd probably want to pet it and have it look as much as practical like the real thing too. We did evolve together, after all. That's a deep and ingrained connection. Fur would also make sense if you sometimes need them to help keep you warm as you explore new places. And then there's the physical comfort factor, which this boy is seeking right now.
Big Dog, Little Dog by Ian McQue
Robo-Dog! I really like the sci-fi vibe this mini has going for it, and I’m glad with the way I painted it.
This was the first mini where Army Painter’s Speedpaints, which was what I used as the final layer on this miniature and all other animal companions to date, truly had a chance to shine, so to speak. Once I’d painted the metal bits metal and let them dry, the Speedpaints elevated those areas to truly new levels. I guess what I’m trying to say is that Speedpaints are awesome for sci-fi miniatures, but maybe less so for fantasy ones.
Bit of warning though: once you use the Speedpaints, they take forever to dry (like, well over a month, and I’m not even exaggerating), so if you paint over them, there’s a very high chance that they’ll become ‘active’ again. So. That’s a thing to watch out for.
This miniature is from Dungeons & Lasers: Animal Companions, and this specific one is called Dexter the Dog.
Thoughts on: Ethics
Decide for yourselves whether my words have value or if they are naught but the ravings of a madman.
Whichever you decide, don’t @ me, bro. I’m not here to debate. Just to pontificate. Let’s begin.
Ethics. Noun. Moral principles that govern a person's behavior or the conducting of an activity.
Examples. You should not make fun of someone’s appearance, especially their weight. Calling someone r*tarded is also a no-no. Using homosexuality as an insult. Ditto.
Nevertheless, how many times have you witnessed people saying Donald Trump is some combination of a fat, orange retard who is gay for Vladimir Putin and/or Kim Jong-Un?
Also his wife is a gold-digging whore. But also always respect all women.
It was a thing back when Trump was in the big seat for a bunch of shrinks to shit out an armchair diagnosis of Trump about how omgterribad he is, which was of course parroted by all the news places that hated him. Was it ethical for those shrinks to diagnose a person they had never met?
Idunno, but I lean towards probably not. No one who matters is complaining though.
Was it ethical for the news places to engage in said biased reporting? Ditto.
Ethically speaking we should never damage police equipment; the intended purpose of the police is to enforce the law and keep the public safe after all. But if you end up wrecking one of those robo-dogs with the rifle mounted on the back, you know, accidentally or whatever, I don’t think anyone’s really going to be shedding any tears.
War is a shitshow that no country on earth should ever engage in under any circumstances. But I recall this German fellow about, what? 80 years back or so? I don’t think anyone sane is mad that no one let him off with a strongly worded letter.
Ethics are a fine thing to have. They are among the things that separates us from mere animals. I value people who act ethically and applaud their determination to do the right thing.
But ethics are what you might call an ideal. You aspire to them, but you shouldn’t let them run your life. They’re how you should behave when convenient, but what use are they if you’re the only one following them?
They should never be allowed to get in the way is my point.
Given the choice between being ethical and getting what you want (Not to suggest the two are always mutually exclusive, this is just a hypothetical), most people will tend to choose the latter. Being a good person doesn’t put a roof over your head.
And that’s fine. That’s completely okay. It doesn’t make them a bad person. This is becoming something of a running theme, isn’t it? That’s just the way the game is played.
If you can be ethical and get what you want, more power to you. As I said, I value ethics and ethical people. How can humanity aspire to be better than it is without them?
If you can’t get what you want without being unethical then don’t worry about it.
“Fuck you, got mine.” is the name of the game. You don’t have to play it, but everyone else is and at the end of the day what are you going to do when someone steals your high horse and leaves you sitting there in the dirt being ethical?
