Quick update on the state of the RoboPets project!
1) I've reached out to the five winners for the sticker giveaway! I'll give everyone a few days to respond, and if anyone hasn't gotten back to me I'll redraw for that prize, but hopefully I'll get them all on their way by the end of the month.
2) The MUCH bigger update: I am actually cancelling the kickstarter LOL but for a good reason!! Someone has offered to help me with the manufacturing costs which means I no longer need to crowdfund! That also means I can offer traditional pre-orders 🎉

Everyone who initially backed the kickstarter will be receiving a unique discount code. For everyone else, you can use the code GETPETS for 15% off until October 15th :]
The bits that make up the latest Sony Aibo.
I recently found a hatchimal at a thrift store and wanted to clean her. But there was no guides on how to take them apart. So here is the steps I took to open them up.
This gonna be a long post.
This is Pixel pre cleaning. She is a peacat twin a.
She had a ziptie similar to a furbys. I took out the four screws in the base to have better access to it. I then cut it and put the screws back as they hold base together.
I then peeled it up to find the area around the wings are held in by tabs. Wiggle them and they should come out.
The wing opening is smaller than the wings themselves. But the wings squish some and detach. If they detach don't worry they slide right back in.
I don't have a great photo of it but I cut the seam in her neck as it couldn't roll up any further.
The area around the eyes are similar to the wings, only more difficult to remove . I did end up cutting a few tabs after trying for 20mins to get them out lol. Hopefully anyone else trying this will have more patience/luck.
Finally the fur is free and cleanable!
I cleaned her the same way I do furbys. A wash in the sink with a bit of detergent.
I've yet to refur her as I plan to customize her and don't want to go through the hassle of defuring again. The process should be similar just in reverse!
Have fun cleaning them dirty robots! :)
