"Idiot, you did it before as Conan." 

"Get your license and then we can switch places. Put on the helmet, hold on, and shut up, Kudo." 

Shinichi sighed as he secured the helmet on his head and wrapped his arms around Heiji's waist. 

When he'd come down to Osaka to visit his boyfriend (wow, that was still really weird to think, much less say), he'd expected they'd just do the usual things. They'd probably stay around the Hattori house, where Shinichi would flinch under Hattori's father's glare and endure his mother's good natured cooing and questions. Maybe later at night they would go out, hopefully some place low key so they could maybe hold hands or look at each other without odd stares. 

But that morning, Hattori had shaken him awake and proclaimed that they were going on a trip.

"Are you at least going to tell me where we're going?" Shinichi asked

"Nope." Hattori kicked his motorcycle into gear and started down the road. 

He assumed wherever they were going couldn't have been far, if they were taking the motorcycle and leaving so late in the day. Hattori had thrown his duffle bag at Shinichi, claiming that he had packed for both of them - so it couldn't be a long trip either. 

The first ten minutes of riding on the back of a motorcycle felt extremely awkward, but sometime after that, Shinichi felt himself relax enough to actually lean into Hattori's back. 

"See, it's not so bad, right?" Hattori asked at one of the toll booths.

"Shut up." 

A couple of hours passed and Shinichi managed to keep his face buried in Hattori's shoulder. Eventually Hattori gently prodded him with his elbow to get his attention. 

"Hey," he said over the roar of the engine, "take a look to your right." 

Shinichi moved his head to the side and saw the beach sprawling out in the distance, "Oh...wow..." 

Hattori pulled off the main road and turned off the ignition. "Welcome to Shirahama," his boyfriend said, shooting him a huge grin.

He pulled off his own helmet to get a better, "It's really nice, but Hattori...two questions. One, how did you afford this and two, why are we here?" 

"Well, let's just say my parents help offset the cost just a bit so we could have a couple of days alone." 

"And the reason why...?" 

"...Kudo, what's the one thing we can't do at my parent's house?" 

And then it hit him, "Oh...OH! How the hell did you convince them to let us-" 

Hattori wrapped his arm around his waist and pulled him close, "Let's just say, I can be really convincing," he nuzzled his face just behind Shinichi's ear, "and I might have implied that we'd still do it anyway, but they wouldn't have to worry about hearing it if they sent us away."  

Shinichi's jaw dropped and he felt his face go red, "HATTORI!" 

Hattori snickered and pulled him into a kiss, "Come on, Kudo, live a little." 

He rolled his eyes and cuffed the back of his head, "Idiot...but, this was a good idea." Shinichi kissed his cheek before clapping his shoulder, "But you are so bottoming tonight." 

"OH, COME ON!"

I am glad that you approve of the thing. It was a random thought because of a post I saw of a cute little black kitty biting into a book. And that's how the idea came to be.
