J'ai fait un croquis de Myrtille de Robo Story, une série d'animation produite par Belokapi, diffusée il y a 40 ans jour pour jour sur Canal+, le 23 novembre 1985.

Robo Story est une série d'animation française mal connue, mais elle a marquée la renaissance du dessin animé français dans les années 1980 au même titre que Les Mondes Engloutis et Clémentine.

my favorite french cartoon translated into english of the 70's and 80's? robostory. its incredible and epic. its dark and fantastic. i re-watched a few times, and when new episodes where found i watched them too. fell in love with old robot, robot hobo, and the vibe. i love the old af idea that blueberry didnt travel though space, but actually traveled though time. what you see in the cartoon is a far distant future. where robots left behind by humanity continue to run.

I don't know *what* it is, but there's just something about Zenyetta's design that reminds me SO much of Robo Hobo from Robostory. (And Old Robo too, but to a lesser extent.)

what i like about this episode is the translation problems and how they dealt with it. this is a french show roughly translated into english by the bbc.

see, in french the little girls name is Myrtille which is blueberry, so when it was made into english she was named blueberry. now in this episode they end up in a school of some sort, and she tries to show them how to read and finds an M letter chart.

i imagine in the french version this would have been much easier, but in english, its robomoron, the holder of information who points out those berries are called Myrtille.. he doesn’t know what berries are though. and blueberry who is still called the girl man child, or the girl explains when they are blue they are called blueberries.. 

its a bit of a big skip.. but its interesting to see a translation like that out of 1986 or so..

if  yo have never seen robostory.. ever.. and you are an artikst.  working on art... or anthing.. and need something to listen to...

robostory inspired me.

it is the humanity of man.. and it faults..

is camaraderie.. and is heart.. and pain... is french and british and old.. and alive

is why i like it.. is full of humanity and love and disorder and flaw,

found in 2009 never forgot.

in 2014 fall i was in collage for the first time..... and scared... and.. looking up robostory  while working i found someone new had videos from childhood.... the joy helped...
