Explorer - concept: at first glance, it’s a strange fish, but really a synthetic creation explores the deep sea, designed around organic designs.
My original art made in Procreate, please credit if you re-use.
[Image description: a deep, dark purple blue scene of deep water lit only by a bright white light. The white light is attached to a light blue metal cone and a lone mobile neck. It’s connected to a dark thing shaped like a shark reflecting the shine of the white light. The corners of the the fins have little glowing red lights. There are small subtle shapes in the darkness surrounding the robot shark that make out fish and bits of tentacles, only truly visible if you turn up the brightness of the screen all the way. End description.]
Chibi Mermay - K1-B0
A little throwback to how far we’ve come by now. I’ll post the Chibi versions of all characters I’ve done so far, all throughout Mermay.
I’m thinking about making these Stickers or Acrylic Charms in the future. I’d love to get some feedback from you guys, if anyone would be interested in that. Thanks and happy Mermay!

EPFL's imposter robotic fish infiltrates a school of zebrafish
researchers at EPFL’s robotic systems laboratory (LSRO), headed by professor francesco mondada, have developed a miniature robot that can integrate perfectly into schools of zebrafish. the robot is seven centimeters long – longer than the fish it’s modeled after but with the same shape and proportions. it is equipped with magnets that link it to a tiny engine installed under the aquarium to propel it through the water. the researchers chose zebrafish for their study because it is a robust species whose schools tend to switch direction and move about very quickly.
Look Out, Invasive Species: The Robots Are Coming
Look Out, Invasive Species: The Robots Are Coming
Invasive species control is notoriously challenging, especially in lakes and rivers where native fish and other wildlife have limited options for escape. In his laboratory’s latest foray into using biomimetic robots to understand and modify animal behavior, NYU Tandon School of Engineering Professor Maurizio Porfiri led an interdisciplinary team of researchers from NYU Tandon and the University…

I don't know why but today felt like there were lots of possibilities!
I've been thinking about how were're so near to create new type humans, and I'm talking about robots and machines able to think and have their own opinions and personality!! Like AHHHHHHH I love this! I CAN'T WAIT FOR A WORLD WITH HUMANS AND MACHINES COEXISTING AND SHARING IDEAS AND LEARNING!!
I want futuristic cities with lights and robotic creatures, fake-robotic plants but also a green city!! I get so excited just by thinking about this I'M INTERNALLY SCREAMING!
I see myself in the future living alone in a solo minimalist apartment with robotic fish (I've had this idea since 10 y.o), plants and big windows!! That's my dream and goal!!
I'm feeling the need to re-read Isaac Asimov Stories! They're so cool and whoaaaaa so interesting!! HE'S ONE OF MY LITERATURE CRUSHES (the #1 is Oscar Wilde ❤️)
