Every time I reread Robst's "Harry Crow" I am struck dumb by the power of his description of Lockhart's outfit for the Merlin Ball. Eventually, after failing to find any fanart of it at all I said, "Fine, I'll do it myself." I hope his lunchbox is large enough.

This is one of the well plotted, well written and well thought out fanfics I was talking about.
I am not usually a fan of overly long stories (anything above around 30-40 chapters) but this one is well worth reading.
Written from a heart of a challenge, this entire story brings light to the brilliance that is robst. Harry is just as striking as ever, and Hermione just as fierce.

My attempt at the Dumbledore Answers Harry challenge set by witowsmp, where Harry discovers his destiny at the end of first year.
I said it was worse than the broomstick buggery, and that's saying something. Robst no longer looks so bad. Still bad, but not *so* bad.
Like I said, I think that robst treated the Weasleys better. I don’t know if he’d be appalled or not, but at least with robst he still went “soft” on Mrs. Weasley towards the end of KiP.
Not so with ITWATN, but that’s a different story…
But with pstibbons? This is very clearly supposed to be just desserts. This is a punishment for crossing him and his shipping! Poor Harmony, it must’ve been such a nice shipping until people like pstibbons started mucking about with their demonization…
"There are five factions in this battle, the goblins, Voldemort and his death eaters, Fudge with his ministry lackeys, Dumbledore and his worshipers – especially the Weasleys, with of course Hermione and I slap bang in the middle of it. After today, we're pretty sure the goblins are now on our side. This is a massive boost as the other three have been courting them and, with Dumbledore now persona non grata inside Gringotts, we're already well ahead of the game."
Word to the wise: when setting up political conflict, make sure you actually make everyone else a threat.
