Obsessed with the way Tara and Dick are broken mirror images of each other. The parallels between their relationships with Slade and Bruce respectively. The way those parallels diverge and lead in different directions. The insane loyalty they both have toward their mentors whether they deserve it or not.

The way in my apprentice au, Dick's emotions become too strong too large to hide, and hes not the leader of anything or anyone anymore so why not let them seep out? And how he leans into the positive ones as his landline, and how he doesnt know he wants to die while with Tara everything is both simultaneously raw and numbed out. Her emotions are buried, only to surface in short bursts. She isnt planning on living longer than another year, maybe two. She hurts herself, prefers to hold the knife. Dick lets other people do it.

Redraw of a panel from The New Teen Titans volume 1, issue 39. I ship RobTerra as well, and when I first saw this like 11 years ago, my old RobTerra fangirl from 2007 squee’d. I’m surprised how Tara, even if she was “pretending,” flirted a little with Dick in the comics. Even if it wasn’t that often. 

So, felt like redrawing it in the 2003 cartoon’s style. It sucks, but eh.

me talking to myself abt how terra and robin could’ve bonded over being haunted by slade even after his presumed death bc they would’ve understood each other better than anyone else in that regard and it would’ve opened the door for a potentially really good friendship as well as healing from slade’s emotional (& physical) manipulation

I just found out that people are saying that Robin and Terra are too different to be anything other than platonic and just what???

I’m not some big opposites attract fan, but I ship them hard and they weren’t that different, and the difference they did have just balanced out and wouldn’t make them incompatible. Besides they are shared trauma at it’s finest!
