RobThier Answers Questions From #AskRobonRadish!
Last week, we held a coin giveaway contest and gave you a chance to ask our dear Sir Rob about his works!
Alas, we have fantastic news!
We are pleased to inform you that Sir Rob's answers are finally here!
We know you cannot wait to read more about lovely Lilly and Mr. Ambrose!
So without further ado, here is Sir Rob’s interview!
1. Was Ambrose’s personality always like this? Or did something happen to him and make him like this?
(from @JasmiineGrey - akanexkouha)
I don't think anyone could be like this from birth – or his parents would probably strangle him before his second birthday. ;) No, there are very good reasons why Mr. Ambrose grew up to be the man he is, and we'll find out more about them in the coming book.
2. What did Lilly do with the ring at the end of In the Eye of the Storm ‘their fake wedding ring’?
(from @AfifaSiddiqui5 - Afifa)
I must admit that I didn't give much thought to the matter at the time. But, Mr. Ambrose being Mr. Ambrose, he probably demanded it back and pawned it. ;)
3. Was Lilly and Mr. Ambrose based off anyone you know in real life?
(from @YalookLikeATaco - supersonicfan)
Definitely not. Most of the people I know are much more harmless.
4. Are we gonna expect Lilly to dress like a lady in Silence Breaking?
(from @sweetanna27 - sweetanna27)
Oh, yes. Lilly will need to fight with the weapons of a woman as well as those of Mr. Linton.
5. When and how did you get inspired to write the Storm and Silence series? How long did it take you?
(from @no_need_names - bookbutterfly1999)
My inspiration came during my university studies, as I read about the fascinating personalities involved in Victorian feminism, suffragism, and imperialism.
6. Was Ambrose ever in love before he met Lilly or is there a mysterious girl we don’t know about?
(from @Yolo6543211 - yolo654321)
There was a girl, but not one he was in love with. Check out "Before the Storm" on Radish if you'd like to know more.
7. Will we see Ambrose being emotional in the fourth book? Since he will be going back to his past home and life.
(from @DaisyFromMars - daisynerd)
Dare I say it...perhaps, possibly, maybe yes, he might. ;)
Are you satisfied, or did that leave you with more questions in your mind?
Better wait for Silence Breaking and read it to find out more!

Robert Thier is a German Historian and writer of Historical Fiction. His particular mix of history, romance, and adventure, always with a good deal of humor thrown in, has gained him a diverse readership ranging from teenagers to retired grandmothers. For the way he manages to make history come alive, as if he himself had lived as a medieval knight, his fans all over the world have given him the nickname “Sir Rob.” For him, Robert says, becoming a writer has followed naturally from his interest in history. “In Germany,” he says, “we use the same word for story and history. And I’ve always loved the one as much as the other. Becoming a storyteller, a writer, is what I’ve always wanted.”
Besides writing and researching in dusty old archives, on the lookout for a mystery to put into his next story, Robert enjoys classical music and long walks in the country. The helmet you see on the picture he does not wear because he is a cycling enthusiast, but to protect his literary skull in which a bone has been missing from birth. Robert lives in the south of Germany in a small village between the three Emperor’s Mountains.
You can find all of his works on his Radish profile here.
