Someone: so, what's ur plans for Valentine's day?
Me: chapter 46 of silence breaking.
I’m reading this really good book series based in England in the 1800s, it’s romance and adventure.
Since, it’s the 1800s, women can’t exactly work, but this one girl, Lillian Linton, convinces a rich business mogul, Rikkard Ambrose, to employ her as her secretary. The deal, however, is that she has to pose as a man while working for him.
Now, the story is pretty interesting and, the author is very good, but there is this one part where it gets steamy and all and the male protagonist says
“Don’t you see? You’ll never be a man!”
Instantly Lily responds “I don’t want to be, I just want to be treated the same.”
And I was really happy ‘cause that was the exact response in my mind.
Overall, the books are great and the dude isn’t an absolute asshole.
