Retro City Rampage First Impressions
Okay, so just recently played RCR, haven’t gotten far in yet, but man is it nostalgic. PRESENTATION the game’s presentation is simple and charming. You can change the view of the game to make it look like it’s being played on an arcade machine, old NES game and even making it monochrome to emulate a gameboy screen. The graphics are clean and retro. Even though the game has an 8-bit look, everything is clear and nothing looks deformed or strange. MUSIC the music is made to sound like music from an NES. other than the charm of oldschool sounds, the music is kind of forgettable, not baf, but not great either. GAMEPLAY the game has 3 game modes: story, arcade & free roam. I have not played arcade mode yet, but that will come in the full review. as for story mode, it is a bit dialouge heavy, but the story line is a tounge and cheek parody of retro games. The game has you do missions like robbing banks and special story missions. In the overworld there are sub-misdion that range from Shooting rampage to shooting people with a bazooka at point blank range to send yourself flying. CONCLUSION the game has a lot of charm and will constantly have you chuckle and smile to all the references and parodies in this game. ＄15.00 is a bit steep, but you won’t mind after you start playing
