California duo Smoke Season brings us some rocksteady, ska-styled pop vibes on their latest single, Up On Me. The video is a summer dazed, chic and sharp ode to Los Angeles, featuring epic female skateboarders in today’s hippest fashions. Gabby Bianco and Jason Rosen wrote a love letter to east LA in breezy radiant Up On Me. "We've lived in Silverlake / Echo Park for the last decade," they share. "It's become the inspiration and backdrop to almost all of our music. We felt like it was time to pay homage to our turf and our community." Up On Me is another testament to Smoke Season’s diverse astute musical prowess.
Its video features skateboards from Welcome Skateboards, shoes from T.U.K. Footwear, and guitars from Fender. Styled by Kristin Condia, the cast wears pieces from HARDEMAN, Alexander McQueen, Jimmy Paul, Vicken Derderian, Blue Roses, Vaquera, mlaed, ADIDAS and vintage pieces. "Up On Me" includes LA-based skaters Lydia Mae Martinez, Marissa Martinez, Felicia The Sk8r, Kelly Bentovoja, Christopher Vick, as well as LA-based artist, tattooist and model Bobby Coyote, and drag performance artist, Trash Queen. "Up On Me" was written by Smoke Season, Andrew Furze, Mark Jackson and Ian Scott, produced by Andrew Furze, mixed by Todd Bergman and mastered by Gentry Studer.
