Book: Ride or Die: A Bad Boy Romance
Pairing: Colt x MC // Logan x MC (Ellie)
Summary: Ellie lives with a very strict father who doesn’t let her leave the house even for one night. When he forbids her to go to her dream college, Ellie decides to take matters into her hands and create her dream life. Since the only way to move out of the family house is to get married, Ellie needs to find a guy she can fake marry immediately. And who’s better than a young criminal that Ellie can easily blackmail? Unfortunately, not everything is as easy as Ellie hopes.
Ellie had counted every day, and felt it, too. She’d spent her time in classes, going to parties. But every moment felt empty. She was incomplete, and she knew that Mona was the reason why.
She’d be lying if she said she wasn’t nervous, sitting on the hood of her car outside the prison. Mona had told her to stay away, and she was doing exactly the opposite. She took off her leather jacket, her tattooed arm a map of how much she’d changed.
Maybe Mona wouldn’t even like her. She wasn’t that sweet, innocent high schooler anymore. She’d grown up, and she’d changed.
She raised her head as a figure walked from the jail, and she could tell immediately from the curve of her hips that it was her.
Ellie hopped off the hood, taking a few steps towards the gate as Mona made her way out. Her face looked darker, harder than Ellie remembered.
“What are you doing here?” she asked, glaring at Ellie.
“I’m here to pick you up,” Ellie said, standing her ground.
“I told you not to come,” Mona said gruffly.
“I came anyway.”
Mona’s eyes raked over her body, but there was no hunger in them. They were just...cold.
“You look different,” she finally said, eyeing Ellie’s tattoos.
“You too,” Ellie replied, trying to remain cool despite the churning of her stomach. “Want a ride?”
Mona stared at her, long and hard. “Fine,” she said. “Beats the bus.”
And just like that, Mona climbed into the passenger side of the car. Ellie frowned. It wasn’t like her, not to fight for the driver’s seat. She shook her head, knocking the thoughts away and climbing into the car.
“You want to grab some food, on the way?” Ellie asked.
“Sure,” Mona said, staring out the window. She was cold, distant. Mona was never a warm person, but she wasn’t this.
“We could hit a drive-thru, get you a burger and shake?”
“Whatever,” Mona said coldly.
Ellie looked at her, the churning in her stomach growing. It was even worse than she’d thought. She didn’t know this woman at all, and the same could be said for her. They might as well be strangers.
Author’s Note: Prompt 5: What’s Logan’s Least Favorite Thing About His Appearance? A little steamy. If you like this, please like, comment, or re-blog!
Logan is up to his elbows in the car’s engine when he feels Ellie’s soft touch on his shoulders. “It’s almost midnight. Come to bed.” Her fingers slip downward, tracing invisible patterns along his toned arms.
“Careful, troublemaker.” He turns to her, holding up his grease-stained hands in warning. But Ellie is staring at the way his sweat-soaked shirt clings to his chest, and he forgets momentarily how to form words.
He glances at the dismantled car behind him. Its owner is coming to pick it up at 7:00am. “Five more minutes?” He offers. Ellie just bites her lip and walks slowly towards the stairs to his loft. “Two minutes?” She reaches up and unties her halter top as she reaches his doorway. Fuck. He can finish the repair tomorrow. He grabs a shop towel and hastily wipes the grime from his hands.
Logan has always hated his hands. He can hide almost every part of himself behind a fake accent or a new suit, but not the hard callouses on his palms or the knuckles that never fully healed after a street fight in Detroit. Grease lingers under his nails, and he remembers himself as a small boy with dirty hands and unbrushed hair, struggling against the social worker as she led him away.
His hands remind him that he came from nothing, that he is nothing, and he can’t help but see the contrast when he touches Ellie. Tangled up with her in his sheets, he watches his fingers move over her soft skin, and wonders in amazement if this is real. How can it be when there is so much about them that is different, so much about him that is broken?
And then her lips are on his neck, her breath coming in soft whimpers against his skin. And he can’t think anymore, can only move his hands faster against her body as she comes apart beneath him.
_________
Bonus Scene
Ellie slips her hand beneath Logan’s as he shifts gears, guiding his 2005 Devore GT through traffic. He raises an eyebrow at her. “What? It’s the closest I can get to driving your car,” she jokes. Logan throws his head back and laughs, the most carefree she’s seen him in weeks. She settles back into the leather seat contentedly. This is how he taught her to drive, his hand over hers on the gear stick, expert fingers guiding hers through the motions.
She loves his hands. She’s watched him bend metal in the shop, arms flexing, his grip impossibly strong. But at night his touch is feather soft, like she’s something precious and rare. And when he’s asleep, she traces the scars that run across his fingers and wonders how he got them.
Traffic slows to a crawl, and she lifts his hand to her lips for a moment, kissing the knuckle that’s still swollen for connecting with Salazar's jaw. She glances up in time to see something — surprise? — flash behind his eyes before a genuine smile spreads across his face.

Book: Ride or Die: A Bad Boy Romance
Pairing: Mona x MC (Lexi Padilla)
Plot: When Mona’s thoughts keep her awake, Lexi helps her unwind.
Notes: I caved. Behold, my first venture into choices fanfic. I’m surprised I held out for 2 years, haaaa. Enjoy fellow Mona stans!
Warnings/Ratings: Super duper NOT SFW. And some fluff. But mostly not.
Music: Unwind - Healy
Mona glanced at the numbers glaring from the stove clock as she quietly crept across the dark room, curling her fingers around her keys so as not to make any extra noise. She set them down in the glass bowl by the couch, continuing her silent venture to the bedroom. A loud yowl and hiss startled Mona and she jumped back, cursing under her breath and narrowing her eyes at the offender.
“Stupid cat,” she grumbled, hissing back for added effect. Gunther ignored the response, rubbing his fur against Mona’s legs and head bunting her ankles. She scowled at him as he continued his affections, then rolled her eyes and bent down to scoop him up. He purred and nuzzled into her neck, causing her to chuckle at the sensation.
She’d never cared for animals; what purpose did they serve aside from ruining everything of value? But within the first week of being in the apartment, Lexi discovered an orphaned kitten and was obstinate about keeping it, despite Mona’s heavy protests. Even more to her chagrin, Mona actually liked the little fur ball. Mona scratched his head a few more times then set him down, headed to the bedroom again.
She stopped in the doorway, leaning against the frame and folding her arms across her chest as she stared at Lexi’s sleeping silhouette. They’d been in their apartment for just under 2 months, and it’d been a hell of an adjustment. Mona wasn’t used to caring about or for anyone other than herself, and she preferred it that way. At least, until Lexi showed up.
After the showdown with the Brotherhood, Mona never expected to see Lexi again. She knew the pain of being betrayed by naively trusting someone you cared for all too well, and she knowingly and purposefully inflicted that on Lexi. But if Lexi hated her, she was alive, and as long as she got to live, it was worth it...no matter how it affected Mona. But Lexi was always full of surprises, and for some reason unbeknownst to Mona, Lexi still wanted her around.
When Lexi had first asked Mona to come with her when she left for college, Mona had laughed in her face, sure that Lexi must have been joking. But the seriousness of Lexi’s expression made Mona falter, her eyebrows knitting as she eyed Lexi.
“You’re not kidding,” Mona deadpanned.
“Why would I be kidding?” Lexi countered, raising an eyebrow.
“Why wouldn’t you.” Lexi continued to stare. “What the hell would I do in Oklahoma, Lexi. In case you’ve forgotten, I didn’t even graduate high school.”
“As if we’re above paying for forged documents,” Lexi quipped. Mona rolled her eyes and smirked. That’s my girl.
“I need to lay low for a while.”
“It’s Oklahoma.”
“How would I make money?”
“You have more money than I’ve ever dreamed of seeing--”
“Yeah, and I need that money!” Mona protested. “I told you, I enjoy the finer things in life.”
Lexi smacked her arm lightly, causing Mona to chuckle. “I’m being serious here, jerk. I just...I’m not ready to let you go. I’m not ready to lose you.”
Mona’s teasing grin faltered, her heart stopping for a split second as she stared into Lexi’s big, doe eyes. Could she do this? Could she really let her go? She shook the thought out of her head, making a halfhearted joke to change the subject.
Mona continued to refute Lexi’s efforts to get her to change her mind up to the very end. But by the morning of Lexi’s departure, Mona realized she wasn’t ready to let this go, either, even though it went against everything she believed in; everything she believed about herself. She had finally found something, someone that overpowered her drive to just survive. So she threw all practical judgment out the window, grabbed a bag, threw in what she needed and wanted, bought a one way ticket to OKC, and beelined it to the airport. She would never forget the look on Lexi’s face when she saw Mona sitting in the boarding area, legs crossed and blowing a bubble with her gum as she smirked and shot a wink at Lexi.
“Hey, hot stuff,” Lexi said hoarsely, shaking Mona from her reverie. Lexi grinned sleepily as she stretched her arms above her head, then turned on her side to rest her chin on her hand. Mona smirked, raising one hand off her arm to wiggle her fingers in a wave. “What’re you doing?”
“Thinking,” Mona muttered, making her way toward the bed. She slid in next to Lexi, immediately opening her arm for Lexi to scoot into her nook. She began tracing distracted patterns on Lexi’s arm, placing a gentle kiss against her temple and Lexi sighed, snuggling closer to her.
“Where’d you go?”
Mona cringed slightly, pausing her ministrations momentarily before resuming. Lexi usually slept like the dead; she didn’t think her absence would wake her. “For a drive. Couldn’t sleep.”
Lexi hummed in response, placing a tender kiss against the space between Mona’s neck and shoulder as she twirled the ends of Mona’s hair between her fingers, causing Mona to shiver involuntarily. “Wanna talk about it?”
Mona looked over at Lexi, turning on her side to face her. It was the little things Mona loved; the random scattering of sun kisses on her face, the gold streaks in her rich brown eyes that made them shine even in the darkness, the way her eyebrows creased in concern, confusion, frustration, and everything in between. Mona traced Lexi’s eyebrow with her thumb, down the side of her face, then leaned in to place a gentle kiss against her lips.
Lexi melted into the kiss, slowly deepening it as she sighed into Mona’s mouth. After a few moments, Lexi pushed Mona down slightly, throwing a leg over her to straddle her. Mona raised her brows in surprise, splaying her hands against Lexi’s stomach underneath her oversized shirt. Lexi reached down and hastily removed her shirt, tossing it across the room. Mona smirked, sitting up and securing her arms tightly around Lexi’s back.
“Someone’s eager,” she teased, placing light kisses down Lexi’s neck. Lexi shoved Mona’s shoulder playfully, gasping as Mona nipped at her sensitive skin.
“Always,” she breathed, then pressed her lips to Mona’s roughly, quickly deepening the kiss as she ran her fingers through Mona’s hair, grasping it in her hands. A strangled noise came from the back of Mona’s throat involuntarily, turning into a low moan as Lexi moved to lift Mona’s shirt up. Lexi broke the kiss only to remove it, crashing her lips against Mona’s almost immediately, reveling in the feel of their skin against each other.
Lexi began slowly rolling her hips into Mona, their tongues continuing their slow, languid moves against each other. Lexi reached behind her to grab Mona’s hand, moving it to her stomach. Lexi placed her hand over Mona’s and slowly guided it down, under the band of her underwear until she felt Mona’s fingers against her. She gasped and bit Mona’s bottom lip as Mona began gently stroking her, her eyelids fluttering closed.
“See what you do to me?” she breathed, her head falling back as Mona continued her ministrations, placing sloppy kisses down Lexi’s neck. Lexi moaned, dropping her forehead against Mona’s shoulder as she felt one, then two fingers enter her. She matched Mona’s movements, rolling her hips against Mona’s hand with each pump. She felt the heat building, right on the edge as Mona stopped her motions, earning a frustrated noise from Lexi. Mona chuckled and held Lexi against her as she flipped them quickly. Mona slowly licked down Lexi’s chest, taking her nipple between her teeth gently. Lexi gripped Mona’s shoulders, her face flushed as their eyes locked. Mona slowly, torturously made her way lower, removing clothing barriers from both of them before kissing and nipping Lexi’s inner thigh.
After far too long, Lexi felt Mona’s tongue gliding against her gently, her hands roaming over every bit of Lexi’s exposed skin. Lexi’s eyes screwed shut, noises she didn’t even know she was capable of escaping her lips as Mona continued her delicious torture. Just as Lexi thought she would combust from pleasure, Mona inserted her fingers, slowly twisting and curling them as she pumped in and out. In no time, Lexi was digging her nails into Mona’s shoulders and squeezing Mona’s head between her legs, back arching as she cried out from the intensity of her orgasm. Mona gave one more gentle lick, causing Lexi to shudder from sensitivity. Mona chuckled, and began kissing her way back to Lexi’s face.
Lexi sat up abruptly, pulling Mona into her lap as she kissed her roughly. She wasted no time in kissing her way down Mona’s neck and chest, much to Mona’s delight. Mona threw her head back, cradling Lexi’s head as she licked and sucked her breasts. Lexi lowered her hand between Mona’s legs, teasingly stroking between her folds.
“Someone’s eager,” Lexi mocked teasingly, but Mona was so turned on she couldn’t even formulate a response. Instead, she grabbed Lexi’s chin with one hand, forcefully pulling her into another heated kiss. Lexi responded with equal ferver then pulled away, laying back and letting her hands roam to Mona’s back side with a squeeze. Her eyes raked Mona’s naked body, in awe of how she managed to convince someone so perfect to stay with her.
“You planning on staring at me all night, or are you gonna get me off?” Mona quipped with an amused expression, grinding her hips against Lexi’s for effect. Lexi tightened her grip on Mona’s ass, then pulled her forward.
“C’mere.” Mona raised a questioning eyebrow at Lexi. Lexi once again pulled Mona’s hips toward her, but Mona maintained her position.
“What do you want?” Mona said lowly, leaning forward until their lips were a breath apart.
Lexi still struggled with communicating in the bedroom, which was intimidating as Mona was very much the opposite. But Lexi knew exactly what she wanted, and if she’d learned anything over the last year, it was not to let her fear overpower her anymore.
“I want you to ride my face,” Lexi breathed. Mona’s eyes widened in surprise, then flashed with such intensity that Lexi felt the wind knocked out of her. Mona kissed her hungrily, smirked, and slowly started climbing back up Lexi’s body until she was upright, straddling Lexi’s head. Lexi didn’t waste a moment, her hands finding Mona’s ass again as she pulled her down to her mouth.
“Fuck,” Mona gasped, gripping Lexi’s forearm roughly. She slowly began grinding her hips against Lexi’s face, eliciting a low rumble of pleasure from Lexi. “I’m not going to last long if you keep that up.”
Lexi looked up at Mona, reveling in the way she bit her lip as she threw her head back, squeezing her eyes shut. Lexi matched her speed and pressure to Mona’s movements, roaming her hands up and down Mona’s smooth skin. Mona’s movements became more frantic, murmurs of pleasure crescendoing until Mona fell apart, shuddering as she fought to keep herself upright. Mona lifted herself off of Lexi, breathing heavily as she paused for a moment before climbing down, face to face with Lexi.
“Where the hell did you learn to talk like that,” Mona teased, still out of breath as their foreheads pressed together, her fingertips trailing down Lexi’s cheek and neck.
“From the best, obviously,” Lexi chuckled, pressing a kiss to Mona’s mouth. Mona hummed in approval, a cheeky grin taking over her face.
“Mmm...well, since you’re such a diligent student and all, maybe it’s time for another lesson.” Mona began her descent down Lexi’s body, then straddled Lexi’s face once again, this time facing the opposite direction. Lexi moaned, enjoying the feeling of Mona’s mouth on her before being all-consumed with pleasuring Mona simultaneously. Their climaxes swelled quickly and they both fell apart, one after the other, before falling against their pillows side by side, breathing heavily.
“Jesus,” Mona breathed, flinging an arm over her eyes as she continued her attempt at regulating her breathing. She felt Lexi’s hand slowly covering the hand laying between them, intertwining their fingers together. Mona glanced at her briefly before covering her eyes again, releasing Lexi’s hand to invite her back into her nook. Lexi quickly shimmied into Mona’s side, tangling their legs together as she covered them with a sheet. It was silent for a while, their breathing finally back to normal, and Mona assumed Lexi had fallen asleep.
“I love you,” Lexi breathed sleepily, eyes closed as she pressed a kiss to Mona’s bare shoulder. Mona felt a surge of emotion bubbling up, still foreign and equally frustrating to her. She swallowed hard, tightening her arm around Lexi.
“I...” Mona paused, fear overtaking her. Even though she’d slipped up months back, she’d made every effort not to again. In Mona’s eyes, her actions should have said enough. “You know how I feel about you.” She kissed Lexi’s hair as Lexi nuzzled into her, her breathing deep as she fell asleep quickly.
Mona continued to stare at Lexi’s peaceful form, their bodies still intertwined as she slept deeply. She stroked Lexi’s hair, smoothing down the messy strays with an affectionate smile.
“I love you,” she whispered, placing a feather light kiss on Lexi’s cheek as she slept. Mona didn’t know what the future held for her or for them. She had never allowed herself to think of her life as anything but solitary, never settling in one place and certainly not with one person. As Gunther climbed on the bed, circling before settling down at Mona’s feet, she realized that for the first time in her life she didn’t have a plan B...and she was okay with not being one step ahead. With that thought, she drifted off into the first peaceful sleep she’d had in a while.
A/N: Part of the Choices Valentine’s Day Party, and requested by Anon!
“You want to…what?” asked Mona, glaring at Ellie.
“I want to celebrate Valentine’s Day,” she said, rolling her eyes. “Don’t look at me like that.”
“Since when do we do that kind of shit?”
“Since today,” Ellie said, taking her hand. “I promise you’ll like it.”
Mona sighed, irritated by what she was about to say. “Fine,” she grunted.
Ellie had her wrapped around her finger, that much was certain. She’d do anything for her, even celebrate a stupid, commercial holiday like Valentine’s Day.
“Yes!” Ellie said, her smile as big as the moon. She was a sucker for that smile. “Get dressed, then we’ll go.”
“Dressed?” Mona asked, looking down at her outfit. “What’s wrong with what I’ve got on?”
“Uh,” Ellie said, trying to find the words.
“I’ll change,” Mona sighed, stomping to her room. She couldn’t help but smile, thinking of a night with her girl.
She pulled out a nice button up top and a pair of black jeans. It wasn’t too fancy, but she didn’t have anything better, so it’d have to do.
She stepped back out into the living room nervously, worried what Ellie would thank.
“Wow,” Ellie said, taking her hand and spinning her. “You look drop-dead gorgeous.”
“Shut up,” Mona said, trying to hide her pink cheeks. “You look pretty hot yourself.”
Ellie wore a halter top and tight jeans, hugging her body just the way she liked.
“Thanks!” Ellie said, winking. “Now let’s go, before we’re late!”
Mona followed her, grumbling as they went.
Ellie pushed her into the passenger seat, a location she did not like to be.
“Really?” she asked, looking at her as she climbed in beside her.
“It’s a surprise!” Ellie said, laughing. “You can drive home. Promise.”
She pulled the seatbelt on as Ellie pulled out of the lot, on their way to…wherever they were going.
“Here,” Ellie said as they drove down the road. “Put this on.”
Mona looked down to see the blindfold in her hand. “Really El?” she said, looking at her with cocked eyebrows. “Is this really necessary?”
“Just do it,” Ellie said, to Mona’s surprise. “Please?” she added to soften the demand.
“God, you so owe me,” she muttered as she tied the blindfold around her eyes.
“Great! You can’t see anything, right?” Ellie asked, putting her hand in front of the blindfold.
“No,” Mona replied. Ellie moved her hand quickly at her face to make sure she wasn’t lying, but she didn’t flinch.
“Good girl,” she said, not thinking.
“Oh,” Mona said deeply. “You’ll pay for that.”
“Heh,” Ellie laughed nervously. “Almost there!”
Mona’s mind wandered with what Ellie could possibly have planned for them tonight. Nice dinner? Maybe a movie? Walk on the beach? None of these ideas sounded terribly appealing to her.
She finally heard the car come to a stop, then Ellie get out of the car. She waited patiently until Ellie opened her door and helped her out.
“Here we are!” Ellie said, pulling the blindfold off. All around her were the most attractive cars she’d ever seen.
“El,” she said, unable to explain how perfect this was.
“You love it?” Ellie asked, smiling nervously.
“I guess,” Mona said, smirking. “Beats some fancy dinner.”
Ellie laughed, pulling on her hand so they could go and look at the cars. They walked through, stopping to look under the hood every few cars.
“This isn’t all, though,” Ellie said, as she took Mona’s hand. “You get to take one of these bad boys for a drive.”
“What?” asked Mona, looking at Ellie with wide eyes. “How did you—”
“Ah,” Ellie said, holding up her finger. “Don’t ruin the mystery.”
Mona laughed, her dark eyes sparkling. Ellie loved making her laugh.
“Well,” Mona replied. “You were right, as always. I do like it.”
“Come on,” Ellie said with a grin. “We’ve got some driving to do.”
Mona followed along to a sleek sports car, staring in awe at the power under the hood. “I get to drive this?” she asked, with all of the excitement of a child on Christmas.
“You betcha,” Ellie said, handing her the keys. “Let’s roll.”
They jumped into the car, excitement coursing through their veins. Mona put the keys in the ignition, listening to the engine roar to life. It was seconds before they were racing around the course, the thrum of the motor rushing through them.
Ellie could feel her pulse between her legs as Mona pushed the gas pedal further, a wild smile on her face. This was a definite success, she thought, as Mona whooped with excitement.
They rushed through the course a few times, the ride over sooner than they’d have liked.
Ellie stepped out of the car, her legs like jelly. She walked over to Mona who grabbed her and kissed her passionately.
Finally separating to gulp for breath, Mona’s eyes met hers, blazing.
“Let’s head home,” she said, sending Ellie’s heart soaring.
Okay, Tumblr. I finally caught up on Ride or Die and I’m going all in. I’ve gathered a few of my favorite stories below the cut. Ships are alphabetical, scroll for your favorites.
Colt x Logan
Come Around — How exactly did Colt convince Logan to go along with the casino job? This sizzling piece by @e-stelamontoya explains. It’s actually criminal how few notes this has, go read it!
Not So Different After All — The story that started this ship for me! @walkerismychoice wrote a story so good I played ROD just for context. She takes Logan and Colt’s in book tension and makes it sizzle.
Shifting Gears — This is a deliciously smutty and sweet series by @choiceslife I love that Colt is more experienced and assertive than Logan in this one, and it has all the angst and yearning my little heart desires. (18+)
Prompt: “I’m tired and my bed feels so empty without you here.” - “Please come home, this doesn’t feel right.” — Logan and Colt have their first fight in this non-cannon drabble by @paytonsaunders. Sweet and satisfying.
Colt x MC
Dancing with Danger — This piece by @walkerduchess explores another way Prom night might have unfolded. Released before the canon scene, it builds tension beautifully, and culminates in a brutal cliff hanger (don’t worry, there’s a Part 2 already published).
Girl Like Me — I love the way @hufflepvnk writes Colt. She captures his voice flawlessly, and has created a short piece full of tension and passion. Highly recommend.
No Escape — This evocative version of the Prom Scene by @client-327 has no dialogue and yet is brimming with emotion and nuance. It was written before they released the canon scene, and I have to admit I like it better. (18+)
Spousal Privilege — If you haven’t been reading @omgjasminesimone‘s ROD stories, you’ve been missing out. This piece is a set a few months after the end of Book One. Colt is in jail, but Ellie may have found a way to get him out.
Strangers Again — @flowerpowell explores what might have happened if Colt hadn’t shown up to take MC to prom. A perfect demonstration of how to break a reader’s heart in under 700 words.
Take A Chance on Me — This completed series by @pixelburied was one of the first ROD stories I read, and remains one of my favorites. Tala (the MC) is perfectly written, and it’s impossible not to get caught up in her bet with Colt, and the growing tension between them.
Until Next Time — I really struggled to pick just one of @lovehugsandcandy‘s Colt stories. In fact, because she writes exclusively for ROD, I’m going to link her Masterlist. But Until Next Time is just ... stunning. It’s has both one of the most beautifully intimate narratives I’ve seen in Fan Fiction and one of the most passionate love scenes. Absolutely amazing. (18+)
Logan x MC
The Archduke, The Virgin, and the Speed Racer — @lovehugsandcandy‘s only Logan story to date, which is positively criminal. Here, MC’s first time with Logan happens the night of their study session. It’s at turns funny and sweet, with a lingering sense of sadness and regret, given that Logan knows he’s been lying to the girl he loves.
Carburetor Leak — Set after the fight at the drive-in, this beautifully written piece by @hellospunkiebrewster shows us the comfort and unease Logan might feel when someone takes care of him for the first time. It’s heady and angsty and deeply satisfying. I’ve re-read it too many times. In fact, I just re-read it again.
Felicia — This piece by @brightpinkpeppercorn has a glorious plot device I refuse to spoil, but that had me laughing so hard I almost choked on my coffee. But she does much more than humor here — including a bittersweet scene that finally gave me some of the closure I wanted after MC and Logan’s confrontation.
The Bet — In Chapter Three, if you wager a kiss on the game of pool and lose, Logan takes you outside and kisses you away from the prying eyes of the crew — and the reader. This is what I think happens. (18+)
In the End — This beautiful, ruthless piece by @thefirstcourtesan ripped my heart out of my chest. If you love expertly written angst, this is the work for you. Thankfully, the author also wrote a brilliant piece of Logan fluff called Special to mend our broken hearts.
Kiss Prompt — @walkerismychoice’s Logan x MC drabbles are literally the only reason I survive between chapters each week, and I think I love this one best of all. I want this happy future for our poor boy so badly, and this deliciously sexy fluff is exactly what my heart needed between brutal chapters.
No Matter What — I usually read fan fiction for romantic pairings, but @likethetailofacomet writes a friendship between Logan and MC that is complex and compelling and irresistible. Set after Amber’s fight with her father, this story covers prompts: “You’re getting crumbs all over my bed,” “Here, take my blanket,” and “Hey, hey calm down. They can’t hurt you anymore,” and gives incredible depth to Logan’s character. Also, don’t miss the beautiful anguish that is Scattershield.
Sanctuary — @client-327 has written quite possibly my favorite Ride or Die series to date. It has both incredible tension and tenderness, and you won’t be able to stop reading. I’ve read each part nearly a dozen times already (18+).
Mona x MC
Kiss Prompt — This drabble by @walkerismychoice is set just before the Casino Job, when emotions (and chemistry) are running high. Short, spicy, and incredibly in character, it left me wanting much more.
Star Crossed — This piece by @parkershawss is silly sweet perfection. An English paper has Ellie convinced she and Mona are Romeo and Juliette, but Mona has other ideas. And Logan’s cameo at the end? I couldn’t stop laughing!
Superstition — An Arabic tattoo on Mona’s wrist is a reminder of the woman who shaped her, and the life she used to know. By yours truly.
Thats the Entire Problem — This is one of my favorite chapters in the Want to Get Out of Here Series by @pcktsprgrl. The crew has noticed the connection between Mona and Ellie — and that Ellie is wearing her jacket — and Logan and Ximena have very different advice. The last lines are especially compelling.
Unwind — This piece by @choices-betch starts as a tender glimpse into the ending Mona and Ellie should have had, and ends with a scorchingly hot scene between the couple. Mona is flawlessly written, and you can feel her struggle to adjust to a new life just as keenly as you can feel her love for Ellie.
