okay so theory time!

Blue Eye and Red Eye, those guys

from alternate we know they were originaly one bean (wich like, holy shit)

so how the hell does that work? That's what i'm here for!

we know that the Mira HQ beans got infected by parasites (it's why they're so aggresive)

so it wouldn't be unreasonable to assume that they got torn appart by one of the new-made imps just as a parasite (or two) infected them

parasites can't change hosts after they infect them, why would they try so hard to keep them alive then?

and since they're shown to be the testers of Unity (yes we apparenly already named the robot) so it's resonable to guess they were in the same room as it

it might have been in maintenance while that happened(why it was in halves), so the parasite(s) made a last ditch effort to save its(/their) host (and by extention themselves/itself) by marging them with Unity

(also lets all vote to call the whole bean BE&RE...wait for it... Whole Eye. I'm hilarious i know)

as for how they both got a brain, they most likely both got torn pieces of it in the halves so the parasite could have regrown it based on the brainmatter left

that would explain why their personalyties are similar but still not the same, that would also most likely make them more obidient since they don't have a full fully-developed brain so it would make sense why they're guards for Indigo

Also fun stylistic Indigo piece I did while listening to TF2 music. I hate making fire look plain so I fill it with doodles!!! He waz originally gonna have the horns but I forgor to add them until it was alreayd finished and I was scared I was gonna mess it up WEEPS!!
